“Good Value”
I was looking for a place to stay, coming back from Munich for an early flight out of Frankfurt the next day. This is only 30 km south of the airport and is much more reasonable in price as well as a better value than most of the Frankfurt hotels I am aware of. Would be happy to visit there again - even if not flying out next AM. Clean, well situated rooms and bath.
“Modern, clean hotel, Great Value”
Modern clean hotel just next to the exit onto A5 or A67. I needed a place to stay before taking a flight back to the US from Frankfurt. The hotel is half an hour from the Frankfurt Airport. The staff is very friendly. There is a parking garage for guests to use if the outside parking lot is full. The Italian Trattoria Restaurant in the hotel is excellent. Make sure to have dinner there when you stay in the hotel. They have various pasta and pizza dishes and many Italian specialties. They also deliver to the rooms.
“A useful hotel”
Within 30 minutes drive of Frankfurt airport (in rush hour) the Achat is a convenient and reasonably- priced option for the traveler headed back home. All was tidy and well-organized. The room was small and was missing one bedside lamp, but otherwise there were no problems. I would stay there again.
“Nice Average Hotel”
This hotel was a good value for a recent conference I attended in Frankfurt. A bit of a commute but nice to get away from the big city.
“Clean, quality hotel - no complains”
This is a pleasant hotel, with friendly staff. Internet is free in the lobby which has a bar. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It is also close to many things - only 20 min to Frankfurt Airport.
“Very Good for the price... good location but sorrounded by other unnecesary croud”
Very nice.. Peacefull night but its in between residence apts. parking available for extra... also breakfast for extra charge. Close to Darmstadt within minutes from Frankfurt
“Good base for work”
I stayed at the Achat over a weekend as I was working in Darmstadt early monday morning. At first I didn't like the look of the hotel but on reflection it was more than adequate. Griesheim itself has nothing to offer but it is a good base for Darmstadt and the surounding area. The staff at the Achat were extremely helpfull and friendly, when i asked for an extra pillow it was taken care of immediately. I ate in the Italian style restaurant on Sunday evening and had one of the best meals ive had in a long time, recomended by one of the very friendly staff. The Hotel could do with a bit of modernisation however this is my only complaint apart from the free Wi-Fi internet service is very slow. Regards Chris
“Not impressed”
The Achat Hotel Darmstadt/Griesheim just wasn't up to standards. However, the attached restaurant was excellent and it's right up the street from a Toom (German K-Mart-style store) which was handy. The fridge wasn't on, there's no A/C and it wasn't as easy to find as the web site makes it seem. Next time I'll stay somewhere else.
“Good hotel on a budget”
The service was good, the room was ordinary, but clean and had everything needed, including a small kitchenette. Breakfast was good. The location was fairly convenient for visiting Griesheim or Darmstadt, and also close to the Autobahn. I would be happy to stay there again if in that area. For the price I was very pleased.
