“nice hotel - very close to restaurants and the beach”
The Hotel is in a exceptional location - right next to the beach and the famous pier as well as the restaurants of Sopot. The airport is about 30 mins drive (depending on traffic) and by taxi would cost between 60-80 Zloty. Overall the service is very good. The Hotel has 5+ floors but the lift only goes to the 4th floor (so if you have mobility issues or are going to carry luggage make sure that you get a room between floors 0 to 4)!!!
“Very Nice Hotel with Parking.”
Very Nice Hotel. I will go back Again. Very courteous staff. Internet in room worked acceptably : (1.3Mbps/700Kbps) Electrical outlets are switched off upon exit of room, but I found one by the desk that stayed on, which I used for my VOIP laptop. There were a bit too many things in the room such as menus, brochures, extra pillow, clothes iron, dry clean request papers, drinks in fridge that cost additional, etc. ; but when I asked, the staff removed them promptly. The towels were a bit worn out, but acceptable, and I did not see any better elsewhere in Poland. Everything else was just fine. Typically, I am a very critical customer. Above are all, with which I could come up . Really, I highly recommend this hotel.
“Elegant and convenient”
While staying in this legendary hotel was an old dream I never expected I would enjoy it so much. I was surprised by the excellent, spotless condition of this quite old property, both the interior and exterior were. I liked the sophisticated style of the room; the furniture was simple yet elegant , and most importantly comfortable. The service was absolutely excellent; I sometimes forgot I was in Eastern Europe. The location of the hotel is unbeaten; my 80-year old grandmother enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the pier. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay and I hope to come back!
“if carlsberg did hotels........”
This hotel is impressive. Location is superb (right on the beach) and only a short stroll (under 5 mins)to bars, shops and restaurants. A perfect place to unwind for a few days, just wish could have spent longer there.
“Old world class Hotel, totally updated. Great service. Will come back.”
Very impressed.
“Sopot's elegant hotel”
This is a very comfortable accomodating hotel with easy access to the beach in Sopot. It is an easy walk to the main street, and walkable to the station. The staff were very helpful in making arrangements and providing advice. There were a number of families staying with small children, as well as business travellers.
“Truely Wonderfull”
Perfect in everyway, traveled to many eastern european cities, and this is about the best hotel i've stayed in! Traditionally beautiful, complementary leisure facilities were outstanding, the rooms were very cleam and spacious, the beds were so comfy! I would highly recommend this hotel!
“Sopot's finest.”
We had a really enjoyable stay in the Grand Hotel. The hotel and surroundings are magnificent. fantastic service, very friendly helpful staff. The private beach was great and the hotel complex was within walking distance of plenty of bars, retaurants and the fabulous pier. We spent some time thererelaxing after a family wedding in Gdansk and would certainly return. we had a room with a sea view which had two large windows which opened out and gave a fantastic view of the beach and the Baltic. Food in the beach bar was delicious and very reaonably priced. Wonderful hotel and we will definitely return for a longer stay.
“Sofitel Grand”
Very comfortable; good facilities
“Fantastic hotel”
We stayed at the Grand Hotel, Sopot, for 5 nights in August 2008. It was excellent! The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The pillows were amazing. The room we had was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The chocolates on the pillow each evening were a lovely touch and, all in all, you felt really pampered. We didn't eat at the hotel (expensive!) but there are lots of very good restaurants close by. The hotel has a very good spa and the pool was a nice plus. The sauna and steam room were also good. They didn't seem to be used by many of the guests, so we had them to ourselves most of the time. There is also a small gym with pleasant views of the pier and promenade which we used once. The gardens are very elegant and a pleasant place to sit and read. There are some lovely walks along the coast through woodland and also others further inland through forests which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were absolutely delighted with our choice of the Grand Hotel Sopot and have no real complaints. The only small negative, where we felt slightly mislead, was in the use of bikes. There is no mention in the hotel information of a charge for this, and when we enquired about using the bikes, again no mention was made, so we assumed they were complimentary. On leaving, we realised this was not the case. This having been said, we used the bikes for a half a day at a cost of only 10 pounds each, so it wasn't really a big deal. Marks out of 10? A resounding 10!!
