Situated on the northern portion of Captiva Island, on 2.5 miles of white-sand beach, the South Seas Island Resort is 4 miles from Sanibel Island.

In addition to 2 marinas, 19 tennis courts, a 9-hole golf course, and 11 pools, the resort has a kids club (ages 4-6 and 7-11) and teens club (ages 12 and over), both with wide range of activities (surcharge). Kids also love the video arcade, with virtual-reality machines and unlimited games for a daily fee. Towels, umbrellas, and lounge chairs are available for the pool area and the private beach.

A state-of-the-art health club features more than 30 types of exercise machines, a sauna, personal trainers, yoga, and fitness classes (surcharges). A spa offers massages, body treatments, and beauty services. Abundant dining options include a harbor-view seafood restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and a 1950s-style pizza parlor.

The resort's trolley system transports guests throughout the property. Guests also have access to the nature center and can participate in special resort activities.
