“Edgewater Comfort Inn review.”

There was a panoramic view of the Hudson River and the New York skyline from our window. The complimentary breakfast had variety; the eggs and sausages were hot - it was handy and saved some time and money. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The bus stop to downtown NYC was 2 blocks away - easy, safe walk. The hotel had a large patio in the back, overlooking the Hudson. There was a long river walk right next to this patio. I would stay there again and would recomment it to friends. Good value. Easy access to the city. Safe. Amenities close by.

“Unloved”

Although rooms are nice and spacious, staff seems to be briefed to do the absolute minimum. WiFi was not working properly; the guy at the desk hardly looked up from his phone to welcome me or tell me how to get to my room; breakfast is DIY; all plates and cutlery disposable; etc. No wonder the USA has a high unemployment rate and an unsustainable footprint. Too bad, because rooms are good and the bus-connection to central Manhattan (Port Authority Bus Station) is excellent.

“Would be alright but the room smelt HORRIBLE”

The hotel was descent. I recommend you don’t get the smoker room if you’re not a smoker. I was booking this vacation in a hurry and the smoker room was the only one available and I would never do that again. It was worse than you think. The room was semi clean but I couldn’t get over the horrible smell. However the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was also decent but they did have a waffle maker, which was great. The front desk service was wonderful. The man helped us out a lot and was very friendly. The hotel was in a good place because the bus from New York drops you off 1 minute away from the hotel. It was a little far from Times Square but it was close to the Yankee Stadium which was great for me. Over all I would stay there again but never will I make the mistake of booking a smoker room.

“Convenient hotel”

It was very convenient for our trip to New York City because we can get to Manhattan easily by bus. I think it's a reasonable price. However, don't expect a warm reception...

“Only in an emergency”

Hotel was clean, but needed to be updated. Room was adequate, but needed to be overhauled. Breakfast provided was minimal. Not a good area.

“My Underwear Was Stolen... Seriously”

My wife and I had very few complaints about our 2-day stay at this hotel until the end. The rooms are decent, the neighborhood is quiet and it's a short distance to the Midtown ferry, the Lincoln Tunnel or the Jersey-side Statue of Liberty tours. I would have recommended it for budget travelers looking for an inexpensive base of operations for day trips into NYC, if only three pairs of my underwear hadn't been stolen. I would like to point out this was not worn underwear that I had left on the floor that may have been moved by the cleaning person, but clean, folded underwear that would have required someone to open my suitcase and take it. It was more unsettling than anything, as was the front desk's incredulous reaction when I mentioned it on check-out.

“Strange smell”

I have stayed here several times. The location is good as long as you drive there. The room was full of strange smell.
