“Nice Hotel for a fare price”
The hotel is a very nice one with friendly staff. The building and the amenities are Westin grade. The only negative aspect in my opinion is the lack of privacy in the bathrooms. They have a cut out window that connect to the room and it can be closed by a very light shutter that still allows to see and hear almost everything. Even the bathroom door is like the window shutter. I think it is made like that for look, and it would work out great for couples, but what about families?
“Great vacation spot”
The Westin hotel is ideally located on the Fort Lauderdale beach, with a convenient skywalk to avoid having to cross the street from the hotel to the beach. A couple of issues we had with our room: First, the A/C rattled every time it started up. Second, the room safe broke and it took a day plus an argument with hotel security to get it fixed. I was told inconsistent stories by various hotel staff. The front desk said they would transfer me to another room if they could not fix the safe. When I called back and spoke to hotel security, I said that I would prefer if they could simply take the lock mechanism from another room's safe and move it to my room, and I was told they could not do that because the hotel was 100% occupied! Finally, the head of hotel security did just that. What is surprising is that removing the lock mechanism only took a couple of screws. I am going to be very careful about hotel safes in the future. Notwithstanding these issues, the hotel staff was otherwise very friendly and cooperative, and the front desk did comp us several breakfasts because of the safe problem.
“Great location!”
At times we think this property is overpriced. However, we actually checked much less attractive hotels in the area and the Westin, while not cheap, it is definitely worth the cost. Its is an older property but well maintained. The staff actually called us by name and seemed to to care about customer service which is refreshing. Also, you cannot beat this location. We drove from Hollywoof to Deerfield Beach and theres not another area like this anywhere. Its close to good places to eat, fun shopping, and it is a great overall experience. We will be back!
“Friendliest Staff”
From check in to check out, every single person we interacted with was happy to be there and happy to assist. The guys in the valet parking area were fast and always asked if we needed directions. We will be returning in December!
“Great Stay”
Great experience! Very close to a bunch of great restaurants. The room was VERY comfortable and we had a beautiful view. Staff was very accomodating. The only negative things I could mention are 1) the fact that I stood at the poolbar for 10 minutes without even an acknowledgment that I was there and 2) we called ahead for our call to be brought up and ended up having to wait behind people who got down front at the same time we did. Othwerise we loved it and would certainly return
“BOOK IT NOW! New Hotel , Great Staff, Across the street from the beach!”
My wife and I had the BEST stay! Great Room, Great Food, Great Staff,,,Sunday morning I walked outside the hotel, crossed the street and ran on the beach...Safe, fun, vibrant location
“Excellent”
Excellent staff and very friendly atmosphere, this was a short biz trip for me, but i will come back and spend few days vacationing.
“The Best”
I never respond to these survey's unless I want to rant about a horrible experiece; however, our stay at the Westin was above all expectations. Simply put, it was the best hotel experience I've ever had. Staff was frienly and responsive, the property was super clean, the location on the beach was perfect, and the food was even good.
“Westin accross from the beach, what's not to like?”
loved this place, will definately come back again and again. What's not to like, above average Hotel, nice weather, and the beach. Be sure to try near by H2O restaurant, very good.
“Wonderful place to stay, very comfortable & modern, needs shuttle & a hottub”
The Westin was a very comfortable experience as far as hotels go. Everything is very modern in appearance with an artistic flair of geometric design in most of the decor done in soft blues and whites which gave a calming feeling along with the white linen scent that permeated throughout the hotel. The rooms had wonderful mattresses that had 5 in. of memory foam, enhancing a good night's sleep with several pillows and soft white sheets and duvets/comforters that were of a high quality and felt nice against the skin. The bathrooms were tastefully decorated in a simplistic graceful manner with marble and an open~base sink that housed your towels and wash cloths~the bathrooms are adequate in size but I prefer double sinks for extra toiletries (it was a single sink but made of marble also which added to the beauty of the bathroom.) We loved the ocean front rooms with 2 huge windows to view the water. It is located right on the beach and had a enclosed glass walkover bridge that was easily accessible to walk right on to the beach. The pool was simple but clean and plenty of seating etc. My one complaint is that there was no hottub at the pool area (there is one located in the spa but it costs $15 to use.) You do not need to rent a car, everything is walkable. The front desk can tell you of the trips to the Everglades, Venice of Florida watertaxi and snorkeling excursions (very reasonable.) Everything is close including restaurants. No rental car is needed.I recommend this hotel :)
