“Perfect base in Florence”
Conveniently located near the Santa Maria Novella train station and easy 10-15 minute walk to the Uffizi and Accademia.
“Clean Neat & friendly”
This was my first trip to Firenze and the hotel was extremely satisfying. Great friendly staffs to neat & efficient condition of the hotel room. This is no 5-star hotel but it's great for the friendly low cost/price. I'd gladly go back there again for my next trip to Firenze.
“Very Charming Hotel”
I chose the hotel because its overall ratings were very good. Raters consistently commented that the hotel staff was very friendly and courteous and the rooms were very nice. Alba Palace is an outstanding hotel. The entire hotel staff is wonderfully kind and the rooms are clean, beautifully decorated, and spacious. Its location near the train station makes it a great point for accessing various tourist venues. The continental breakfast is typical of most European hotels in that the selection is limited. Still, the cappuccino was superb. Overall, the experience was superior (especially for the reasonable price). I'd definitely stay there again.
“Will go back!”
My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend it to any traveler. The location is fabulous, being a mild walk from the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and all sorts of incredible Florence shopping, and the rate was very reasonable. The room was small, compared to American standards, but that was to be expected and the renovations they've done to the original building (bathroom, new bed and other furniture) were extremely nice. The included breakfast was also wonderful with yogurt, pastries, meats and cheeses, coffee, and many other choices. The street can be a bit loud at night, but remember that this hotel is downtown Florence and some noise is unavoidable. That said, the windows and walls of the hotel itself are nicely noise-canceling. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. BUT, be warned! The pizzaria a few doors down (starts with a T?) on the hotel's side of the street was terrible! Don't waste a meal on it.
“Will stay here again.”
The room was big and clean. Very close to the train station and Duomo. Very limited selection for breakfast, no hot food. Will stay here again.
“good location”
the hotel staff was great, very accomodating. the room itself was a little small. the "twin" beds were european size (smaller than the US version). overall, i'd stay there again... but ask for a larger mattress.....
“"Great value, close to train station"”
Great value hotel only short walk from the train station. We needed a quad, it was very spacious and comfortable for the 4 of us. Within walking distance of most attractions.
“Charming hotel in beautiful city”
The Alba is a charming, beautiful little hotel. Located within an easy walk to everthing you want to see or need. ( only 2 blocks from the Termini). The breakfast room is well light, large and has beautiful Florentine pottery tables along with the usual Italian breakfast. Our room was bright, warm and overlooking the street. I would have liked another mirror and the bathroom was small (they don't call them water closets for nothing)! The Florence is beautiful even though it rained alot and was cold but coming "home" to the Alba was always nice. On our return trip we will stay at the Alba Palace again.
“Wonderful hotel, great location”
We were very pleased with the hotel. We asked for a room with three beds and that's what we received. The room was extremely clean and everyday when we got back to the room after siteseeing, the room looked exactly like the first day we arrived. We stayed eight nights and couldn't be happier. Alll the rooms have DVD players, so several nights we went to the desk and asked for a movie. The movies were'nt current movies but it bet watching BBC or CNN. The breakfast was always put out on time and the hostess was constantly refilling the items to make sure that there was always a good selection to chose from. The location of the hotel was great. Close to the sites and the train station. We only took a bus on day, everything was within walking distance. The restraunts the hotel suggested were great, went back to one twice. The desk employees were very helpful with directions, etc.
“Venice Alba Palace”
A very nice hotel at a good price. The location was, for me, excellent, being away San Marco and the crowds and tourist traps. It is actually in a residential area so we were able to dine and drink like the natives. Yet is is close to the train station and the boat to the airport. My only complaints are that the room only had one outlet in the room and one in the bathroom so we had to unplug a lamp to use our charger. Also, no wi-fi and they charge to use the computer by the lobby.
