“best place to stay”
This is by far the best place to stay if your going to Florence or anywhere that has this hostel. The prices are really good for all the things that you get. Would stay here again for sure.
“Very Nice Hostel”
This Hostel was very easy to find as it is within easy walking distance from the train station. It is a very clean and comfortable and has excellent facilities and staff. Our only complaint would be that they advertise tours from the hostel and we had decided to do these as we were only in Florence for 1 day but when we arrived they told us that tour was not running and hence had to waste time on the computer trying to find another tour.
“How not to break the bank in Florence”
PlusFlorence Hostel, is in a wonderfully central location, with all the basic facilities and more. We were pleasntly surprised by the accomodation at the PlusFlorence hostel, it felt more like a hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and facilities outstanding for the cost. We had an en-suite two bedroom apartment with flat screens in each bedroom. Meals and drinks were very reasonable priced. Swinmming pool, steam room , sauna , laundry and gym are on site. We felt very welcome even though we were probably over twice the age of the average traveller. Things to be aware of :- * as the floors are tiled sound carries. * the smoke alarm unit indicated it was working with a green flash, so if you are light sensitive ( I am) take a night mask. * towels / hair dryers can be hired for a small charge, but we took our own. * the pool was only heated in the evening (6-10pm) so was rather cold at other times ( but we stayed in October and you might like it cooler in the summer). * it is a hostel, so there are a large number of young people but not many children. There are facilities like snooker table, disco in the evening, and lots of trips aimed mainly at this age group. * air conditioning is controlled from reception. * TV controls have to be picked up from reception. * the cheapest place we found for reserving tickets for the museums.
“Never stayed in a hostel before, this was a nice surprise.”
Never stayed in a hostel before, this was a nice surprise. We had a large room for 3 people, large private bathroom. Nice facilities. The only negative would be that walls are very thin. Good location, 15 to 20 minutes walking distance from the main train station.
“Perfect for young travellers”
I had never stayed in a hostel before but my friend and I visited Florence over the Easter weekend and when searching for Somewhere to stay this was the Most suitable location. At max a 10 min walk to the Duomo and centre. Perfect location. Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a good standard of cleanliness. When we booked we were under the impression our room would be designed for 2 people but instead we had a room for 4/5 with bunk beds. This is not a problem for friends but I probably wouldn't recommend it to couples. Bunk beds did not seem very stable and we ended up sharing the bottom as it was a double and felt safer. Was nice to have the added facilities such as the pool however this was disappointing as was far too cold to enjoy a swim even though a sign stated it was heated from 6pm (this did not seem to be the case). However, Florence is beautiful and if you are after a simple place to stay within short walking distance to the sites then I would recommend Plus Florance.
“Nice hostel”
Great room with a balcony. Quiet room. Hostel staff were helpful. The hostel is busy with lots of school trips but if you can avoid them whilst they are checking in then you won't know they are there.
“good for short stay only”
The 2 ladies on reception were not accommodating & helpful, we arrived early so we're allowed to place our luggage in locked room but need to wait till 2pm to check in. We asked for map so we could go around to make use of our time, we were given a photocopied map which nobody will be able to read. We had lunch and went back to the hostel around 1.30pm coz we saw their brochure for 230pm half day tour in Florence. The 1st lady told us that the person in-charge with the tour is on break, so we waited till 2pm... then we asked the 2nd lady who told us that their tour service is currently not available and the person in-charge is on break for the season...not on lunch break!!! We rushed to the meeting point of the said tour, fortunately, we arrived on time and went with the tour. First night is alright, room of six was reserved for my family only.. though.bed is not so good. The night guys on reception are much better, very quick with check-ins and gave us the official map of Florence. Second night, there was a lot of noise and comotions along the corridor
“Good position and geared to younger travellers.”
Good position. Breakfast disappointing. Good cafes nearby.Reception helpful. Room not cleaned during 4 night stay. Geared for young, students and school parties but good value for families. Good view from roof.
“Mixed views”
We had problems when we stayed at the Hostel with our reservation which is a shame as it soured our opinion of the hostel. The staff were generally friendly and helpful which was good. Location was great - close to everywhere.
“I was quite surprised to see that my family and friends (with kids!) were booked at a hostel!”
The rooms were clean, but basic. I should have brought my sleep sack! All night I could hear kids partying and loud noise from the street. People kept trying to stick their keys into my door to get in. How many drunk kids really can't find their room? Needless to say, I did not feel secure or comfortable. The environment was not suitable for small children or families. If you are in college or backpacking, this is the "hotel" for you. I thought I was overcharged for the accomodations.
