“Great family holiday”

Mana Island was a wonderful family holiday. The Ocean villas were spacious, clean and well suited to our family of five. The food was average to good at the buffet and excellent at the restaurant. Staff were mostly polite, some warm and friendly and a few disappointingly rude. Drinks are not included in the meal package and are expensive, being a hot climate this cost added up, fridges are in rooms and I would suggest to bring some drinks from the mainland. The Spa at the resort was first class, couldn't ask for more. The resort has access to two beautiful beaches, both with great snorkeling, different aspects (southern or northern) allow you to avoid a swell or seek a cool breeze. Management need to enforce rules to protect the reef from damage caused by ignorant visitors, all should attend the activity club's reef talk.

“Stunning island”

I would highly recommend Mana Island - the beaches are beautiful, great snorkelling, good kids club & friendly staff (mostly). There are some downsides - at times the staff are too laid back, the food was average, water and drinks can be pricey. However if you bring some snacks and drinks with you it makes things much cheaper. Also, you can eat at the better South Beach restaurant on the meal plan (but need to book ahead). Overall a lovely spot.

“small, friendly island for a short holiday”

The individual cottages (bures) are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is outdoors with a pretty pebble wall around it. A clothesline is provided. The bedside light on the wall is not bright enough or in the right position for reading in bed. There were an ironing board, iron, a hairdryer, an umbrella and a kettle with cups, tea and coffee etc. provided. The wardrobe is large and there is a safe. The airconditioner worked very well and whisper quiet. There is no table and chairs inside but outside on the porch are 2 chairs. The resort puts on various activities and show on some nights. I flew in and out and that flight can be late, so do not book a close connection from Nadi. The food was quite good considering that everything has to come from the mainland. I ate at the buffet all the time. At lunch they do not have any salads but hopefully will change that soon as I spoke to the Food & Beverage Manager about that. Snorkeling was ok off the beach on the northside. The 2pm snorkeling trip was great except the person driving the small boat did not give very clear instructions. There was a strong current pushing me away from the sandbank. Make sure you can stay near the boat.

“it was great honestly you could not be disappointed”

we booked two nights at mana not sure if we would spend our entire 5 nights n fiji there. we did end up staying another night there, so 3 nights in an island bure which are great, you dont need to spend the extra for the ocean view etc the island bures are in a great location. the island is small enough you can walk anywhere in no time. the meal buffets were really expensive 57$ for one dinner buffet. so we onlu ate breakfast buffet which was great. for dinner we wandered down to ratu kinis back packers and got great 12$ meals and cheap beer. snorkling is best off the north beach on the west point/headland.(not the beach with the jetty) it really was amazing we saw cuttlefish and all the reef fish. the mana beaches are really nice, we stayed one night on malolo and the beach was very tidal and rocky. mana was nicer be sure to hike to the lookout and to sunset beach at sunset! take time to talk to the ample staff they are great people. we saw the staff village, its a shanty town. for such a nice resort they make like 2$ an hour and dont even have doors on their employee houses, kind of disappointing. but i guess they live better than most impoverished fijians on the main land. i would definitely recommend this island and resort. you get a royal greeting and send off on the jetty. (go on the jetty at night and you see tons of fish swarming under the lights and big fish feeding)

“Mana Island”

Beautiful spot, good accommodation, full of young families with kids, taking advantage of kids club and creche. Food was disappointing. Resort and beaches great.

“would go again”

a great place. The island bure (cheapest) was brilliant and would stay in that bure again. The outside shower is great. Eating arrangements were too restrictive. To get breakfast there was only 1 option and that was a full breakfast for 33 dollars, too bad if you only want coffee and toast ! Same with lunch, the only lunch available was the buffet for 30 dollars, again if you only want a sandwich then too bad. Reservations were required for the a la cart restaurant at night,we booked one night and the they couldn't find the reservation so its a bit hit and miss. The a la cart food menu is very overpriced as is the meal package. We had breakfast at the backpackers down the beach for a fraction of the resorts prices and the food was very good. The resort is very big but spread out and there were no crowds or queues . Would reccommend this place to anyone.

“Would stay again!”

What a relaxing holiday! From day one, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and explained everything in easy to understand english. The island is quite big with two lovely swimming pools and great snorkelling off the North beach. The coral is about 50 metres off shore and best time is during high tide. The coral reef off Mana is up there with some of the best I have ever seen! Easy day trips to be had to nearby islands and I really recommend a day trip on seaspray out to modriki island (where they shot castaway with Tom Hanks). Gorgeous island and great snorkelling there too! All in all a great holiday, came back very refreshed and can't wait to explore more of Fiji!

“Never take an oceanview "Upgrade!"”

When we arrived at Mana we got a free Upgrade from the bookes Island Bure to an Oceanview room! We stayed there one night. It was dark, you could smell the moisture from the aircondition ... we really didn't like it. The second day I had a look at the Island Bures! They are really nice, so we changed the room back and had a wonderful time finally!

“Magical Mana”

My sister and I spent 4 nights at Mana Island Resort and Spa in an Oceanfront Suite and wish we could have stayed longer. The resort spans the width of Mana Island, with the busy South Beach having the jetty (for arriving/departing guests), jetskis, kayaks, parasailing, a semi-submarine for coral-viewing and other watersports, while the North Beach featured smoother water (during our stay) and a short paddle out to the drop-off for some beautiful snorkelling. We dined at both the a la carte South Beach restaurant (bookings required for dinner) and the buffet Mamanuca Restaurant and enjoyed the food at both. The dinner buffet at Mamanuca Restaurant is themed with Fijian night being the one definitely not to miss; the food was delicious! Nightly entertainment meant we were never bored once it was dark. This resort would be perfect for people looking for the chance to lie back and relax on the stereotypical white beach with clear water lapping at their feet, as well as those looking for a bit more adventure and action. The island is quite large and has two local villages from which most of the staff originate, as well as an airstrip. If you can find the path up to the lookout the views of the surrounding Mamanuca Island group are wonderful. Sunset from the lookout was a highlight. We can't wait to go back someday soon.

“Verrrrry Relaxing”

We stayed for 1 week for our Honeymoon. Besides the young kids making noise all was very good. They charge you alot more knowing that you're a foreigner and the resort prices for restaurant food were very expensive however there is a back packers resort 2-3 minutes walk from the resort (turn right as you get off the boat) and the food is great and cheap considering. Heaps of water sports, snorkelling was great, kayaking, parasailing, jet ski's etc etc. We went in July which is supposed to be winter but the temparature did not drop below 20 degrees all day/night. There are 3 boat transfers per day from the mainland to the islands at 10.30, 12.30 and 4.30 so make sure you plan your trip around these times. The locals are extremely friendly and you cant walk past one person without them saying BULLA (hello). Would definately go back.
