“Fiji's newest, grand hotel”
We stayed here for 6 days at our honeymoon in August, 2009. It was a brand new hotel with excellent service. Also, we had a room that's literally 3 steps to one of the most beautiful beaches of Fiji! Loved all the comfortable places you can just lounge on. Only complaint I had was that the food was a bit bland, big resort bland, and food and drinks were expensive. You won't get any of Fiji-type discount, but I guess you have to pay for the location. Most impressive thing I noticed here and I guess general in Fiji for me though was how happy people of Fiji looked! It was beautiful place for our beautiful honeymoon!
“Looking forward to returning”
The layout and spaciousness of the resort and rooms were great. The spa was first class too. Fijian friendleness and service was excellent
“Will definately return”
First time in Fiji and after reading reviews on many resorts ended up choosing this one, SO glad we did because it was everything we expected and more. Read a lot of comments about poor and overpriced food in Fiji, but I thought the food was excellent and reasonably priced for a 5 star resort. All in all it was one of our best holidays ever and would highly recommend it for a family with 2 young children such as ours.
“Nice place just to relax”
Because the hotel is a bit far from everything else...all you could do is really stay on site so it's a great spot for some R&R for adults. The pool was extremely cold due to wind so I wish they had a heated pool. The food was not very good and extremely pricey. If they can improve on the quality of the food, it would be great. Also, there's not an ATM on site! That's another improvement the hotel can improve upon.
“Lives up to expectations”
Couldn't fault the hotel's facilities or services. Staff were discreet but friendly and very responsive to our requests. Coffee was exceptional for a hotel. If I could fault anything (and I'm being picky) the hotel menus had good variety but the food standard is closer to a four star than a five or six star resort. Location is terrific - great beach and a magnificent reef for diving and snorkelling - but it is quite a distance from Nadi (about an hour's drive) and the return trip could put you off if you wanted to do lots of sightseeing. In our case we wanted a relaxing break and got exactly what we planned.
“Wonderful honeymoon”
After doing some research and looking at several reviews of hotels and resorts in Fiji, I choose Intercontinental Fiji Resort. My husband and I are so glad that we booked this resort as our place to stay during our honeymoon. From the moment you arrive the staff is friendly and welcoming. The staff there remembered our names and greeted us throughout the entire trip. The staff assisted us with setting up activities as well as transportation for getting to and from other areas on the island and then always remembered to follow-up with us about our experience. Although this resort is further out from the city, it felt more like a vacation because the resort is secluded and it was not difficult getting around to other areas. We traveled to Nadi and Denarau and looked around and it looked too modernized and what we were use to in California. We love Intercontinental and cannot wait to go back to Fiji again someday and stay at Intercontinental.
“.Exceeded Expectations”
Excellent facilities and staff; great beachfront location; nice surf beach
“Best place to stay & relax in Fiji”
What an amazing hotel! I stayed there with my mum & sister for our mum's birthday gift and I wasn't disappointed. A lot of people told me about their experiences there before I booked so the expectations were quite big. A good point was that we went early February 2010,a dn there was barely anyone in the hotel (low season) so we practically got all the staff (so helpfull and smily) for ourselves in the workshop (going to a paradisiac island next to the hotel, visiting the market at Nadi....). Our room was basically 10m from the beach, the pool is amazing overlooking the lagoon. I would definitely go again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great relaxing time in Fiji.
“Planning next trip back, simply fantastic - what a catch!”
The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa is only 1-year old and is simply amazing - a great way to relax and unwind. The resort itself looks like something from a postcard and does not disappoint throughout. The King Suite (Lagoon) was roomy, comfortable and has everything you need to relax. The three restaurants are good without being great and the pool bar, Toba is a comfortable place to eat lunch everyday under an umbrella while working on your tan. The adults only, Infinity pool is simply stunning with views across the reef and ocean and the poolside gets sun all day. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go to great lengths to make sure you are always a priority - they really made our stay enjoyable. There are a number of activities including: horse riding on the beach (dont recommend unless you have young kids - its really just sitting on a horse), snorkelling and canoeing (great fun) and reef fishing (awesome!). The skipper Ritchie of White Tip will take you reef fishing (2-hours) and is friendly, knowledgeable and trolls the reef beyond the breakers. We caught large Blue Trevally, Barracuda, Mackerel and Long Tom - what a morning! We dont play golf, so didnt enjoy the championship course that hosts the Fiji Open. Massages on the beach were relaxing and tranquil, with the waves crashing in the background - a must do! The InterContinental has created a unique, relaxed and friendly environment situated on possibly the best beach in Fiji. Simply fantastic!
“AWESOME!”
It was a truly memorable stay. The beachfront suites really are metres from the ocean and well worth the extra. The resort was spotless, the staff truly attentive to our needs, and the facilities fabulous. To top it off the cuisine on offer was out of this world. I have stayed at other 5 star resorts before but even the room service food here was memorable! I would certainly recommend this one. :-)
