"the hotel is 97 years old with a casino on the first floor. Lots of smoke and noise in lobby. The room was fine, no scent of tobacco reached us on the 6th floor. Each room on our floor had a theme and ours was the Hoot Gibson room with pictures of the silent film star in the room. On the bathroom door was a sign advising us of the hotel's age and noted that during the shower, the hot water may turn cold due to that age. We did not have the problem, both my wife and I showered with warm water that did not get cold. There are not a lot of dining options in Ely but the RailRoad museum was great and not far from the hotel."
