“nice stay”

Although the hotel is more than 8 years old, it has a wonderfull beach and a convient location. The club previlages are not worth what you pay for.

“Much Better Next Door”

After a successful stay at the Westin last year (just next door), I decided I'd try Le Meridien. Big mistake. There are a significant number of problems. First, if you have any desire to sleep at decent hours, avoid this hotel. The Barasti bar located below, while great, plays thumping music until 2:30 AM. After several calls that they 'put into management', nothing was done. I am sure they get this complaint very frequently, and a member of the concierge even confirmed that the bar is a bigger focus than the hotel. Second, the infrastructure is seriously outdated. When I checked into my room, compared to the Westin (much newer), I felt like I was back in the 80's. Very poor furniture, bed uncomfortable, no extra shower room, 'dated' look and feel. Finally, the 'club' level and 'Waves' restaurant are both complete disappointmenta. The tea and coffee quality in the club room is quite poor, as is the food. The restaurant is significantly worse than the restaurants at the JBR hotels such as in the Hilton or surrounding area. The pool food quality was also very poor. The biggest positive of this hotel is the service. They are extremely attentive and willing to accommodate, aside from the bar Barasti issue. The bottom line is that you are much better off staying next door in the Westin, even though it is slightly more expensive. The room quality is significantly better, and you can walk to the Barasti bar and then walk back and sleep in peace. Not Le Meridien quality.

Area recommendations

Stay in Jume Beach, but go to the Westin or the JBR Hilton.

“Popular Dubai Hub”

Good choice of hotel for access to Dubai Marina, Palm and Jumeirah beach locations. Also easy access to the main Sheik Zayed highway for travelling to the main malls, or down town Dubai. Added quality comes from sister relationship with adjoining Westin hotel, offering use of facilities for both. This offers particular benefits in providing a sprawling beach club, and good choice of spa treatments. Contrasting dining offers - from luxury seafood / champagne dining on the dhow, to the lively and poular Barasti Beach bar. As a regular Dubai visitor (and previous resident), this is one of the preffered hotels chosen each time.

“Good hotel/ resort..... can be even better with some attention to details”

Good hotel / beach resort overall. This is my 3rd stay, and I'd they there again. Clean, nice smelling environment. Good service. Great pool area. Opportunities for improvement: - Room service always forgets to bring the requested ice bucket.... have to always send them back for it. - The quality of the lentils soup is not consistent.... had it 3 times in my room and it was perfect... when I asked for it at the waves restaurant, it came in watery and with little flavor. - The A/C opening in the bathroom leaked water on my second day, they promptly sent in the maintenance team and fixed it, it leaked again on the 3rd day... and again they sent in the maintenance team and fixed it. - The window opening mechanism was almost broken.... did not asked for it to be fixed. - The weight scale is old, not digital, and I believe is not accurate.... should be replaced. - The paid movie system does not work.... I tried ordering movies several times... called the reception who confirmed that my room was not charged.

“Terrible customer service”

We had a problem with customer service in this hotel. We were charged 98 USD for some sort of "package", which was supposed to include breakfast and shuttle among other things. We had a very early check out time and, obviously, there was no breakfast (and he guy who offered us this package at the reception knew that we won't have breakfast because he also booked a shuttle to the airport for us) Nevertheless, he still insisted that this package was beneficial for us. Also, upon the return home we found out from our travel agency that the shuttle was already included in the room price so we should not have been charged extra. When we called the hotel to ask for reimbursement the lady at the customer service department was very rude and said that if we were not happy with the service provided we shouldn't have paid at check-out but since we signed the check we agreed to all charges. She was outrageous, not customer focused at all. We will not go back for sure.

“Pricey but great”

“Would not recommend it”

Have stayed in many hotels around the world. This is the worst 5 star hotel. Can not believe they advertise it as a 5 star. It is more a 3 star hotel. I would highly recommend The Westin which is next door, brand new owned by same company.
