“Good effort, poor attention to detail”
The Comfort Inn Hotel Apartments in Dubai is a great place to stay if you're on a budget in what, admittedly, is a fairly expensive city. The studio apartment rooms are comfortable enough and pleasant overall, but a few minor annoyances soured our stay. First off, service at the hotel was frustrating at best. Our room had only one soup bowl and we needed a second bowl for dinner. However, after 5 calls to the front desk and 2 days of waiting, we still never received another bowl. The pots and pans included in our room were either okay or shabby (our frying pan's handle was nearly off, but after the bowl incident, we figured it wasn't worth the effort to try for a new one). In-room electricity is controlled by a number of confusing, vaguely-labeled switches. The in-room washer is great, but there's no dryer or drying racks available. Frequent requests for extra towels were ignored. The business center is advertised as being open 24 hours, but is in fact open only from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The staff is friendly, but the overall lack of detail and full commitment to service is disappointing. Bonuses: the complimentary shuttle to and from the beach is nice, and the complimentary breakfast service is good. The 24-hour grocery on the ground floor is very handy and carries enough items to get you through a week.
“very very disappointing”
We chose this hotel because it looked like a reasonable basic place for a family of four to stay... We booked the one bedroom apartment which clearly stated it had maximum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 children... When we arrived, we saw the room had only one bed. There were two tiny plastic couches in the living room (not even a sofa bed!!!). No sheets, blankets or pillows were provided for the children to sleep either, and the bathroom had only 2 towels (although the kitchen was set up with dishes for four!?). We asked the porter what the children were supposed to do and he said he could "help us out with one blanket", but if we needed more there would be an extra charge!! Since we paid in advance for 4 nights, we bought cheap sheets and blankets at a supermarket and thanked our stars that our children are fairly easy going. (They used stuffed toys for pillows.) Next we tried to use the "free wireless internet"... it didn't work. Front desk offered to send up an IT guy next day - no show. Next time we asked they sent up a cable so we could plug in... still no access. It didn't work the whole time. The only decent thing about the "breakfast buffet" was a chef making fresh waffles. The rest was poor quality & unappetizing. The hallways all had bubbling air freshener units going non-stop, so they smelled alternately of strong lemon scent and cigarette smoke. We talked to front desk and left two suggestion forms for the manager, but nothing was ever done...
“disappointment”
I had a very bad experience one night while coming back to my room with my girlfriend. The reception would not allow me to have a guest although I have booked a suite. The situation got worst and they called the security. They told me that this was the policy of the hotel. I replied that they should have informed me upon checking in. Finally I had to leave with my girlfriend and spend the night in her place. I will never book in this hotel again.
“the best thing is the internet”
Free Internet is good , The breakfast contains only 4 dishes , in the second day a lot of noisy in my floor I complained to receptions but they did not do any thing
