Fantastic hotel with ultra-modern decor. Spacious well-designed rooms.Amazing shower. Kettle and fridge in room. Lovely location, easy to get to. Bus number 50 takes you from the Euro-airport to the central railway station.(SBB-CFF)Then take tram number 8 from stop number 5 (direction Kleinhüningen ),to the end of the line.(approx 15-20minutes) Cross one of the little bridges over the water and turn right, the hotel is a few minutes walk away(head towards buildings showing 'Stücki' and you will see the hotel entrance). On arrival at the airport do NOT buy any bus or tram tickets for central Basel - all are free to hotel visitors. If asked just show proof of your hotel reservation, once you get to the hotel you will be given a free travel pass for the duration of your stay.This is a bonus as everything else in Switzerland is expensive. Eating out is pricey!There is a fabulous take-away deli (Migros) in the train station. Regular trains go from Basel to Lucerne(1hr) and Interlaken(2hrs) (be prepared for high fares!). Also recommend Brienze and the Ballenberg museum experience along with the Lucerne to Interlaken panoramic train. Recommend eating/drinking in Luz just opp Lucerne Rail station. Right on the lake but unpretentious and reasonably priced. Basel is a nice city and great as a base for visiting other parts of Switzerland.
