“Spectacular Conamara and the Wonderful Delphi Mountain Resort”
I arranged this trip as a surprise wedding anniversary, and when the good lady finally understood where we were going, we both Landed at Galway and from then until we returned the car on the way back we fell in love with the whole area it was just so spectacular. The drive up to the Hotel goes through the most scenic landscapes you could imagine and when you pull into the Hotel Car Park the Hotel itself is very much in keeping with its surroundings. The Entrance lobby especially the fire place continues the visual pleasure. We stayed in a loft suite which gave us a more relaxing experience with the sofa's, bathroom on one level and the bedroom above so it felt a lot more homely. The Hotel had a very nice lounge area down stairs and the bar and restaurant was on the upper floor so all with full large windows and doors so you can have your breath taken away again by the surrounding views. Whilst we didn't get the chance to participate in the arranged activities we certainly witnessed a lot of them and the Hotel seemed to be very well organized and felt professional. You cannot fail to be impressed with all the local scenery and local attractions and whilst we were lucky with the weather if it had been worse i don't think it would have detracted from our trip. We ate out locally in various towns and were blown away with the quality of it all and the friendliness of everyone. My wife didn't want to go home and a return visit is now high on the list.
“great place”
We stayed 4 days to walk local mountains, good comfy clean hotel, good food, staff really nice and helpfull. Not impressed as run out of Guinness on second night and had to drink lager!!!!! Area great for walking in but maps are not up to our own ordinance survey as scale only 1:50. Scenery is stunning. Eating in restaurant is pricey but bar food is substantial and better value. The room we had was clean etc but not big enough for chairs which meant you had to sit on bed which is a bit of a nuisance, if we go again we would book a 'loft' room which was bigger than our room with chairs and I think a cd player. All in all great place and we would definately go back. Incidentally there are no tv's anywhere in the hotel
