We booked and paid for the 3 bedroom beachfront grand villa with private pool. The villa was lovely and the view was great.
Within 20 min of arriving and unpacking, we discovered a cockroach nest (NEST) in the drain of one of the showers. The hotel moved us to an “upgraded” villa that was not actually an upgrade at all (moved us to a 5 bedroom with only 2 rooms with a view from a 3 bedroom with 3 rooms with views…keeping in mind there were only 3 of us, so an extra 2 bedrooms was of no use to us at all and we lost one of the views). Fine, no big deal, we were excited to enjoy our vacation.
The next day, we discovered roaches in the villa we removed to. Including one in a bed under the sheets.
I understand that this is a tropical environment and that there will be bugs. One or two roaches is understandable. This is clearly a deeper issue.
Do not stay at this resort. It’s a shame because the resort otherwise is lovely. They just don’t seem to have pest control handled.
