Accommodation in Chinatown
An urban neighbourhood, Chinatown is known for being family-friendly and romantic, while offering convenient options for restaurants and bars. The neighbourhood's architecture, friendly people, and skyline are just some of its charming qualities. Many visitors come for its beautiful outdoor settings, especially the gardens. Chinatown has hotels to suit everyone's tastes, and makes a great home base for exploring the sights in and around Kampong Dollah.
Sightseeing around Chinatown
The area's storied past is told through its monuments and temples, while the museums provide some cultural flavour. Sights like National Planetarium, Orang Asli Crafts Museum, and Royal Malaysian Police Museum offer insight into the local culture. Monuments like KL Train Station, Malayan Railway Administration Building, and National Mosque are well regarded. Swing by Royal Selangor Club, Loke Mansion, and Rumah Penghulu Abu Seman to learn about local history. Take a tour of campus around Open University of Malaysia, HELP College of Arts and Technology, or University of Malaya. Hours of family fun are waiting at Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens, and Kuala Lumpur Deer Park.
Many visitors like to do some shopping while in town, but there are a number of other activities. You can spend a leisurely afternoon outside at Butterfly Park, Lake Gardens, or Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve. Explore nature at Ampang Recreational Forest and Bukit Tabur. With a shopping trip to Kasturi Walk, Petaling Street, or Central Market, you might find that perfect souvenir. If you've got some more time, you won't be disappointed by Merdeka Stadium, Chinwoo Stadium, and Petaling Street Market.
Don't miss some of the area's most popular attractions, such as Merdeka Square, Petronas Twin Towers, and Batu Caves. Holy Rosary Church, Kampung Baru, and Sree Veera Hanuman Temple are also favourite places to visit.
