“Very good hotel in the given price segment.”

The hotel is centrally located close to CBD & Railway Station ( both are10 mins walk) & the staff is very professional & mature. They have clearly spelled out what is included in the service & they abide by it. The rooms are good & overall the property is well maintained. Suitable for families & people who want to enjoy a peacefull stay.

“tremendous”

Very courtesous and every ready to help. Wondeful breakfast and very clean. People around take time to make things clear to you whether it be laptop connection, net or domestic help. Wonderful stay and will go back again to same place. I would rececommend it to anybody who has a budget, Very convenient to shops, hospital and also bus stop.

“Okay for the money”

Expected little bit better... Had an "upgrade" room that did not have anything better then the previous room except lamp and a lamp stand were missing! And it was on the 3rd floor instead of the 1st, so had to drag my 50lb suitcase up the stairs... The free shuttle drives only at 3 specific times during weekdays. Hotel did have air conditioning, not bad breakfast, and a comfy sitting area outside. Hotel was only 20 min walking distance from Esplanade, which is made it easier, except at night streets were not very well lit.

“A Bit basic”

A basic room with weak air conditioning that makes it a bit stuffy. Also too far from the main action to walk, need to take a bus. Local tour organisers are very efficient.

“Good for price, but not worth the poor customer service”

The description did a very poor job explaining the details of this hotel. The FREE 'aiport shuttle', we learned on arrival, was only available from 9am-5pm. We landed at 4:20pm which I emailed the hotel. After waiting, we called the hotel from a pay phone at 5:05pm, they said, 'sorry you'll have to take a taxi the driver has gone home, it's after 5pm'. This was despite the fact I emailed them our arrival, and upon booking, there was no explanation of the 5pm 'rule'. Also, when we tried to finally use the free service when we left for the airport at the end of our stay, they said 'sorry, it's only free from the airport to the hotel, not the other way around'. Also, we booked this hotel (along with the 'free' shuttle) for the free breakfast. It was terrible. We only ate 1 piece of bread 1 morning. It was cold, old cereal, hard boiled eggs and slices of bread.

“Horrible Experience”

It states in the hotel description that there would be a shuttle to pick us up and bring us back to the airport, this was not the case. It does not run on weekends and drops off at only 3 times per day 5 days a week. When we informed the staff about this (manager included) they told us that we were wrong and blew us off. They were rude to my wife and I and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! The pool was full of branches and dirt and was never cleaned the entire 3 days that we stayed there. The spot that you insert the key into for the lights to work was broken and we had to play with it to get it to work. Please do yourself a favor and choose a different hotel! There are much better ones for a similar price!

“Motel Bordering on a Hostel”

Read the reviews prior to booking. Here's what to expect: - About a 20 min walking distance away from the center of Cairns - No complimentary shuttle from the airport (they say they have it, but it doesn't run on weekends or holidays and only 2 times per day. They don't pick up their hotel phone ever). - No complimentary internet (it's $5/mb) - They don't clean your room unless you specifically request for it. - Room is pretty much like an old college dorm room with curtains (painted cynder blocks and ceramic tile). - TV is like a computer monitor screen. - Shared bathrooms are with all rooms on that floor (about 5-10 rooms). They don't clean the bathrooms, nor is it conditioned space - Air conditioning (ductless split) in each room only activates when you are in the room (with the key) and takes approx 5 minutes to "warm up"). - "Complimentary breakfast" is cereal, bread, and canned fruit. - Reception people are nice but not understanding at all (we got off a 30+ hour flight schedule and just wanted to lay down several hours before check-in. They had a room ready but said there was an additional $25 charge) Conclusion: Don't book this place if you can help it.
