“Fantastic and clean apartment”

Stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, nice and spacious, very clean, very friendly service for check in. Loved the pool and the bbq area, only thing i could fault is the shower pressure and temperature, if you needed it warm then it was barely a drizzle as you needed to almost turn the cold water off. Was a great place to stay, would stay again for sure!

“Great place, relaxing and quiet, beautiful views”

My husband and I stayed for 10 days and had a wonderful holiday. The beachfront apartment was perfect - lovely view and well equiped with everything you need. The managers, Craig and Petra, were most helpful, organising airport transfers and car hire, recommending things to do and places to see. They even provided basic groceries in our room, considering our late arrival on Sunday evening. The pool area and grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The only minor complaint is that the bed was firm, although some people might prefer this and I did get used to it after a couple of nights, especially listening to the relaxing sound of the ocean. Clifton beach is a very quiet area with little vehicle traffic and a lot of people walking and cycling. There is an excellent restaurant around the corner, shopping centre nearby and close to the tourist strips of Palm Cove and Trinity Beach. One of the best holidays we have had!

When to go
September weather was perfect - 10 days of 29 degrees, no rain, did get a bit windy, especially in the afternoon. Didn't have to worry about stingers when we wanted to go for a swim; water temperature was ideal.
Getting around
If staying at Clifton Beach I would recommend hiring a car. There is a regular bus service to local areas and tours do transfers at an extra charge.
Must see
Quicksilver outer reef tour; Atherton Tablelands especially Karunda, self drive is probably best, Barrine River worth seeing; Port Douglas; Mossman Gorge; Daintree River cruise.
Dining
Sunday lunch at Yorkeys Knob Boating Club - food is excellent, views are great and a live band provides entertainment.

“Home Away From Home”

This little gem is located in a quiet residential/resort area which is perfect for relaxation. You immediately feel at home in this tropical paradise. I come from a big city, a tourist destination, so this place is just perfect. It's half-way location between Pt Douglas and Cairns makes is suitable for exploring the area and for tours originating at either point. There are bus stops nearby, although we hired a car for extra convenience. It provides a nice beach stroll to Palm Cove, a more upscale resort area. There are convenience shops nearby that you can walk or bike to. The resort itself is wonderful. The grounds and the room we stayed in were clean. It has a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, which would be perfect for families. The bedroom and bathroom are roomy. We stayed in an ocean front with a balcony which made for a very memorable experience. The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, but note that since this isn't a big hotel conglomerate, they do go by normal business hours, although emergency contacts are provided. Internet service can be purchased as needed. There were some connectivity issues, but things are being improved. For a change of pace, one can easily head into Cairns for the daily night market and Rusty's Market at the weekend for fresh produce. At the weekend, Port Douglas has a nice local market as well. Overall, we were very happy at this location, as we wanted to get away from the big city, traffic lights and feel like a local.

Area recommendations
Palm Cove: within waking distance from Clifton Beach and has a few restaurants, but the place is upscale and a bit on the pricey side. Trinity Beach: still has a small town feel, but with a few more restaurants. Port Douglas: has a much bigger town feel, with plenty of restaurants/bars, as well as an originating point for tours. Port Douglas has a weekend market. Cairns: biggest city in the area. It has plenty of tourists and backpackers. It doesn't have the best beaches, but they have an outdoor pool open to the public and green spaces that are packed with sun bathers. They offer free exercise classes at the other park areas. Rusty's Market is a great source of fresh produce. The nightly market is also fun to visit and shop for souvenirs.

“Cairn's Little Jewel”

My wife and I stayed for two weeks and could not have been happier. It's perfectly situated right on the beach. Was so quiet and peaceful. Just far enough away from the main city, about 15 minutes. Beautiful birds that will entertain you while eating your breakfast on your balcony. Groceries nearby and anything else that you would need. Craig is absolutely wonderful. He never once seemed annoyed with all our questions and helped us alot. The entire property is beautiful. I would have no problem staying there again. I hope everyone that stays there has a great time as we did!

Area recommendations
Definately the Kuranda Village and Port Douglas. Very beautiful and very friendly people. Kurand has the neatest shops and you could easily spend half a day just wondering around. Prices there are pretty reasonable also.
Getting around
You will definately need to rent a car. I would wait though until i arrived because deals are everywhere.

“Great Location”

The apartments themselves were probably slightly under my expectations and probably not quite the 4 star self rating. Having said that, they are nice clean apartments with every thing you need, just a little older than I was expecting. However, all of this becomes secondary when you see the location. I absolutely recommend the ocean view rooms as the view was fantastic. Clifton beach is quiet and sleepy with more foot traffic than car traffic. People walking and jogging up and down the beach all day and hardly ever a car. We originally looked at staying at Trinity Beach instead but I'm glad we changed our minds. Trinity looked fantastic but it's a lot more touristy and busy. Clifton Beach was perfect because it was quiet and relaxing but only a 3min drive or 20 min walk to Palm Cove for some of the best Breakfasts and Dinners I've had anywhere. Vivo restaurant at Palm Cove is an absolute must. Overall we loved our holiday, so many activities in and around Cairns, then coming back to our apartment in the quiet, sleepy, beautiful, Clifton Beach.

When to go
We decided on April to try and avoid the mid-summer heat of cairns. Turned out to be the perfect time to go as we had beautiful 30 degree sunny days for 6 days in a row, then the last day was overcast and a little rain.
Getting around
Hire a car. There are lots of activities you can book that have transfers from your accommodation but do a comparison. These trips without the transfers save enough money to hire a car. Then you have the freedom to go where you want and see what you want without the constraints of an organised tour.
Dining
Must try Vivo Restaurant at Palm Cove

“Cold on the beach”

The hotel was comfortable and the management extremely helpful. It is not located within easy walking distance to a lot of amenities. We wish we had rented a car as we felt isolated.

“A relaxing stay”

The apartment was in good condition, clean and with good facilities. We were upgraded to beachfront which is worthwhile I think. There is a heated lap pool in well kept garden surrounds. We had a one bedroom unit which was quite spacious and comfortable, except for the lounge, which could have been better. Agincourt is in a quiet neighborhood, there is a restaurant nearby and the beach is just across the road. Craig and Petra were very good in booking activities and providing advice and arranging internet access. Reasonably close to Palm Beach and about 20 min from Cairns and Port Douglas which have more cafes, nightlife and facilities if thats what you want.

Area recommendations
A visit to Kuranda is recommended.
