“Brilliant!”
Clean, reasonably priced, super-helpful staff, what else can you ask for?
“Jim Vancouver Island”
Great hotel and right beside ferry to Cadiz
“Peaceful retreat from the rain during Carnival”
Convenient to ferry to Cadiz. Helpful staff and lovely relaxing atmosphere in the gracious spacious lobby bar. Lovely European mix in buffet breakfast.
“Really great!”
Incredibly friendly staff, lovely atmosphere...this is my 9th visit!
“Great location”
Not in Cadiz. Who cares? Only a short enjoyable boat trip away. Puerto has a buzz, really reasonable food and drink in great Tapas bars. This hotel is ideal for Bodegas , boat trip and local amenities as well as having a great breakfast and excellent food and drink prices.
“Excellent location and the rooftop pool was the icing on the cake!”
Whilst the hotel is well maintained, we were unable to use the television in the room despite reporting this on 3 separate occasions and being advised that maintenance would be called to fix it, this did not happen. Its locations within El Puerto is ideal and will have no hesitation in visiting it again.
“Really nice”
We booked this hotel thinking is was in Cadiz "city" and then realised it was in Santa Maria, in the Cadiz "region". This turned out to be a good mistake as Santa Maria is a really nice and vibrant little town. We spent only one night there and loved it.
“Good value for money”
Spent three nights in mid-July. Hotel is in centre of El Puerto de Santa Maria on waterfront and two minutes walk to the ferry to Cadiz - 30 minute journey. El Puerto has little to commend it. Hotel reception was outstanding, rooms were good although one has to be careful with the shower falling off. Usual complaint that the only English language tv was CNN which is scarcely worth watching. Breakfast was not that brilliant with some of the heated cooked meat looking unappetising. However, the bar is very good value and was amongst the cheapest we found - two coffees and two large brandies 7.30 euros or around 5 euros cheaper than Madrid. Overall the SM is good value for money and I would recommend it.
“Pleasant hotel 10 km from Cadiz”
Very pleasant hotel. Our room was small, but entirely adequate. The hotel is attractive and quite inexpensive, with a pleasant interior patio for dining. The area, the port of Santa Maria, is not particularly interesting and it is a long way from Cadiz historic center, which we wanted to see. Fortunately we were in a rental car, but had we arrived by train we would have had an expensive taxi ride to the hotel.
“Santa Maria Hotel”
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We did have problems getting wireless in our room and had to pay a lot to have it. The buffet breakfast was incredible and worth the extra money. However, we weren't as close to the beach as we thought. The walk was more like a mile than 800 m.

Area:
El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain: Close to Jerez de la Frontera, the port of Santa María has flourished from the export of sherry and, like its neighbour, features several famous bodegas, open to visitors. There is a small whitewashed old town, an historic bullring and a castle to explore. The port is also home to a fishing fleet, and there are good beaches to either side of town. Nearby is a new marina-resort, Puerto Sherry.
