“Comfort away from home”
The only disapointment of all services was the quality of food served in the snack bar. Compliments to all.
“A pleasant hotel but too far from the town centre to be really convenient”
We stayed there for a week in October 2008. We found the staff pleasant and (fairly) helpful but with a 20 to 30 minute walk to the town centre found it a little far out to be really convenient. They have a nice swimming pool area with gardens and palm trees and the indoor bar area is comfortable with tables/chairs for bar meals or large squashy sofas. Our main grumble was the breakfast. At 12euros they're not cheap and a little more input from the staff would have been welcome. The orange machine was often on the blink and customers were left to their own devices to unblock it. When the box of tea bags ran out -that was it until next day. In all the time that we were there I never saw anyone's table cleared of dirty crockery. But that apart it was a comfortable hotel and we'd certainly recommend it if you don't mind a stroll into town or the expense (not very great) of a taxi.
“Great hotel would recommend it”
This hotel is in a great location and the staff are very helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily. a great hotel overall
“Very fine accommodation”
Guadalete is a lovely place to stay. The facilities are impressive and the location convenient.
“nice hotel near enought o the centre of town”
The Guadalete is a comfortable, quiet hotel about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Jerez, with pleasant clean rooms and a decent pool area and garden. The staff were all helpful and polite and the decor is well maintained. The self-service breakfast (which was not included in the room rate) was excellent, with a huge range of choices. Nice reliable hotel.
“Nice hotel in suburbs of Jerez”
In general this is a good hotel very reasonably priced. Located in a quiet neighbourhood with a few good local restaurants and shops closeby. It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk into town. Breakfast buffet plentiful and cheap (only 6 Euro) Minor gripes were no key for the safe in our room - although that said the whole area gave the imnpression of being safe and secure More annoying was the loud blaring and repetitive music around the pool area although this seems to be an unfortunate trend at Spanish hotels. Don't they seem to understand some people might actually want to relax, read a book, nod off for a few moments etc, etc and not feel as though you are in the middle of a disco However would recommend hotel for those thinking of visiting Jerez
“Jerez trip”
Lovely boutique type hotel with a pool, near enough to the centre to be able to take 20 min walk. Staff very friendly and helpfull, rooms clean and modern. However, beware of a few pitfalls which we found a bit of a shame: rooms dont have balconies, so dont expect views. no shop in the hotel - however a good hypermarket round the corner. only one PC from which to access the internet - it got a bit busy at times, however there is free wifi if you have your own laptop. Only 18 beds round the pool which only opens at 12:00. Over all very good base from which to explore Jerez and surrounding areas.
“Best Beds in Spain in this Price Range”
The reception and desk staff were exceptional. Excellent spoken English support and extremely helpful. It was end of season so the pool area was in need of some sprucing up and clena-up. The beds were the most comfortable were slept on during our 8 city tour of Spain during September. This hotel is a good 20 minute walk to town but very pleasant surroundings. Not a problem for us as we incorporate the walk into our daily routine. The buses were on strike the day we arrived. The cabs we took were very affordable. 5 Euros to the hotel from train station.
“Jerez Annual horse show”
Chosen for the location for the annual horse show and Royal school of dancing horses. Ten minute walk to both. Lovely swimming pool but overall not enough staff to maintain the grounds. No service, towels or drinks available , in fact the poolside bar was not open. Very neglected.
“Good hotel but !!”
Good hotel nice quiet loctation staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunaetly the one thing that let this hotel down for us was the pool and garden area. Pool not accassible until midday but it was available to all of the neighbourhood which consisted of mainly young people. Not once were we able to relax and use this area as it was always very crowded Very loud music was played accompanied by a very large video screen. We do think if there is a pool and gardens it should be priorty for hotel guests first. Due to this we had to find other areas to go out and relax in e.g. beach which was a short train ride away. This is the only thing that spoils this hotel. If your not requiring a pool then we truly reccommend this hotel. We had heard that this hotel was experncive for meals. We found the breakfast good and very reasonable and we ate in the evening on a few occasions which was also a good standard and reasonably priced.
