it seems nicePosted 11/01/2009 on Hotels.com
the hotel seems to be nice, the lobby it's really modern and the bar and restaurant look great, however in this hotel there are two kind of rooms, the new ones that I couldn't see, and the old ones, where I stayed. this room was from the 60 without any maintenance. everything was broken and it was really noisy. the hotel is really far from the city centre, the tram connection is not really good and you have to walk like 2 kilometres in an area that seems quite dangerous.

Worst Hotel I've ever had the mispleasure of staying in!Posted 30/09/2008
This hotel was by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. The standard rooms didnt have a proper bed, I upgraded to the business class room for an extra 50 Euros a night, which was marginally better. There towels provided were dirty, and there was a horrible stench in the rooms. I did pre book for two nights, but checked out after one. I would never go back to this hotel. the only positive was that the reception area looked nice and the meal in the hotel restaurant was good. Service there was poor at best though.

Very disappointingPosted 22/05/2008
Things began badly with the surly and unsmiling reception staff who seemed to see their duty as to give out the least information possible. In our room we found the air conditioning was not working. The reception staff seemed to enjoy a game of repaetedly sending a technician to our roon to repair it only to finally admit that the air conditioning was out of order on the whole of our floor. Luckily some of the other staff seemed more efficent and caring, especially the restaurant staff who provided a nice buffet breakfast, and the cleaners.

Tired but rejuvenatingPosted 01/05/2008
The first impression is nice. Courteous, helpful staff, nice lobby and reception. The rooms are tired and need some rejuvenation. I am sure this will be happening in the coming seasons.

Not too impressedPosted 30/04/2008
Let me start by saying we booked a hotel a bit outside of the main city center as we were driving and didn't want to get lost...again. The previous hotel had internet service in lobby so we went on Expedia to look for hotels. The photos listed were exactly accurate. The lobby and resturant were recently renovated and looked pleasing, but when we got to our rooms (2 rooms)we found them to be a bit dirty, dingy, old-looking and cheaply made. Multiple cabinets but not kept up and falling apart. The bathroom was very old and outdated, plus no hair dryer or outlet to allow us to use our own appliances. The breakfast (included in price of room) was OK, but you had to climb 30 steps to get to the next floor where the elevator did not go. Anyone with physical limitations was just out of luck. The hotel is located in a kind of strip-mall and an adult club was located in the hotel. We did not go to the club, as it was implied that it was more a "gentleman's club". Never go cheap when visiting former Soviet countries, it's not worth the savings. Although, there were a few groups staying there, a soccer club of teens from Canada and a bus tour from Italy. But I would never return to this hotel.

Good valuePosted 24/09/2007 on Hotels.com
Location is a little further from city centre than ideal. Taxi fares were cheap at 240skk to city centre. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Bar prices were hiked up on 2 occasions at least because of number of Irish fans present, finally being 3 times the cheapest bars in centre.

Better than it used to bePosted 22/09/2007
Unfortunately used by stag groups but otherwise a very nice *** hotel, especially if you choose the business room with free internet. It would be good if they had room service though, and taxis to the centre, although now fixed price, can quickly mount up. But it's clean, efficient, good food in the bar, and way better than it used to be.

Very good as for Slovakia standard.Posted 17/01/2007
Pretty good to stay for couple of nights. Not having ATM machines that may cause some problems in getting cash.

Bad accommodation but excellent food!Posted 27/12/2006
If you like the retro 70s styling this place is for you - otherwise avoid. Not great location but local transport very cheap and convenient. The hotel restaurant is superb: food, service & waitresses!
