"This is one of the few places to stay in the ferry port of Stromness, Mainland Orkney. The staff (and pretty much everyone on the island) are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is well-located close to the ferry to mainland Scotland. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is marvelous! The accommodation was very comfortable and in a convenient location for getting around the island (and travelling to others), while being nice and quiet as well. Felt it could benefit from a 2nd toilet/bathroom. the rooms were very spacious. more wardrobe /hanging space would be good in twin rooms. It's a shame that the restaurant is currently out of action but there are plenty of options in quite easy driving distance (although we would advise booking ahead, as a lot of them were quite sought-after). And an excellent breakfast was laid on (and a packed meal for the day of our early departure) by the very helpful staff. Also, there's a well-stocked Asda just across the road. It was a lovely holiday and we're very grateful for the opportunity to visit such a wonderful place. "
