“Great Staff”
I left some $$$ in my room during check-out and the staff found it and returned it to me when I was leaving the hotel!!! Many thanks!!!
“Good hotel, but no metro stations in 10-15 min walking radius”
Good hotel, but no metro stations in 10-15 min walking radius
“Nice boutique hotel”
The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. The room (we had junior suite) was very comfortable, but a bit dark. No direct light in the bedroom area. A buffet breakfast is available for the additional charge, which was too expensive in our opinion. You can have a breakfast in the cafe outside for the fraction of that cost. The metro, and bus stops are very close, but everything is in a walking distance. Overall we loved the hotel, would recommend it to our friends, and would stay there again.
“you should go”
the hotel is near the center of the shoppings.the only bad thing is the nearest metro station is about 10 minutes to walk away.
“Surprised”
It was a disabled room where I never asked such kind room, I am not disabled. I travel around the Europe but never had similar problem. Beds were two single where I had clearly mentioned that I want a king bed, I will stay with my wife. At 20:00 somebody tried to come in my room without knock, fortunately I was just behind the door and I did not get them in, but asked who are they; replied 'sorry sorry', checked with reception, responsible told that it was probably the mechanics and they confused the rooms. I don't accept such kind of excuse. I will not prefere them next time.
“Great hotel for the price”
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. For the price, it is very nice. The hotel is very modern and the rooms are very nicely decorated. It was quite small, and there were about 12 different lighting features, which was funny but cool. Nice bathroom, with a nice big shower, but the door is opaque so be aware if you are sharing the room with someone you are not very close with! The bed was pretty comfortable... but the pillows were atrocious. We had one good pillow and 2 flat-like-a-pancake pillow. It's my own fault for not asking for a different one, though. The hotel was located in the financial district - close enough to attractions and shopping, but far enough away that it was nice and quiet (and our room was even over-looking the busy Diagonal Avenue). The staff spoke enough English to get by, and they were extremely courteous and helpful. And they will watch your bags on check-out day, so you can explore the city on your last day without having to lug your baggage around. We didn't eat the buffet at all, but it smelled really good. All in all, we had a great stay. Would probably stay there again if we were looking for a hotel in the same price range.
“Very unhelpful main desk clerks - young assistants great.”
Hotel room was very small and main staff never smiled! Young men helpers were great. "King" bed quite small and uncomfortable.
“Great hotel in a wonderful location”
Having stayed at this hotel before, I knew that when I returned with my wife to stay both before and after our cruise, that there was no choice but to stay here. The staff is friendly, the rooms clean, free Wi-Fi, and a computer to use in the reception area. I just love the location. It is away from all the noise and "pickpocket central" of Las Ramblas. Yet, it is a five minute walk in two directions from two Metro lines. Also a five minute walk to a point where you can catch two of routes for the Hop On Hop Off tourist bus. Lots of inexpensive resturants nearby. The hotel recommended El Mussol, which turned out to be inexpensive, and quite good. The hotel's breakfast buffet is a tad on the expensive side, so we went to a cafe nearby. The neighborhood is a commercial shopping area, but is very quiet at night, plus is very safe. Las Ramblas is just too busy for my tastes, plus is the worst pickpocket area in the world. A cab ride from the airport runs around 32 euros, and to the cruise port is about the same. Next trip to Barcelona, we will stay here again.
“Excellent Hotel”
This hotel is definitely great! I would say the hotel is more like a 4 star and not the 3 stars that it is given. The service is excellent, and there is free internet access in their lobby. The employees are friendly and helpful as well. English may be a bit of an issue, but other than that, excellent hotel, located in a great, upscale, safe area, will surely stay there again!
“First cab off the rank was a good one.”
The Wilson was the first of a dozen hotels we were to stay in during our trip across Spain, France and Italy. As it turns out, it was probably the best value for money and one of the better hotel experiences we had during our three weeks. First off, choosing the Exiample district over the more touristy Les Ramblas was a good move as the area was pleasant (more of a business district with upmarket shops and fewer tourists), with plenty of public transport. The hotel building is compact, sited on a wedge-shaped corner and our double was smallish compared to the average Australian hotel room. However the style and clever layout made up for its size. And being located right on Avinguda Diagonal put us next to public transport. Some people complain about noisy hotels but with our double-glazed windows there was no noise problem for us. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful. We'd definitely stay there again.
