“Nice place, nice staff”
This is a nice hotel with large rooms and full kitchens. It is a family-run hotel with the staff being very pleasant and accommodating. There are only a few hotel choices in Wasilla. I would highly recommend staying here.
“Great place to spend the week”
I was a little nervous about booking this reservation. We were totaly pleased with our stay. The bed was comefy, the kitchenette convienient, plenty of closet space and an adequate bathroom. The staff was accomodating and the on floor laundry was very handy. I would book a stay there again.
“Wedding plans can't go bad”
Great service and care.
“Secret Treasure”
There were a couple negative postings about this hotel so I was not sure what I would find. This was a perfect, cozy little treasure and I will go back for work often - it's my new favorite spot! Clean, more like apartment style with just 2 floors - more like a Mom & Pop style place than a big hotel - and it had everything I needed. Yes, there is not a 'front desk' person there overnight but the place is secure with door locks. The person in charge was very pleasant and made sure I had everything I need. The room had a kitchenette and huge TV, spotless, extra pillows and blanket in the closet - it was just marvelous. Absolutely no complaints!
“One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in”
I live in Fairbanks Alaska but traveled to Wasilla looking to purchase a new home. While there I stayed at the Alaska Select Motel for three nights. I had picked this hotel initially because it was very well priced and close to my realtor's office. I was nervous about staying here because of the old you get what you pay for saying, but after reading reviews I went ahead and made my reservation. I could not have been happier with the hotel. I had a queen size bed and a queen pull out couch with a full kitchen. My wife and 7 month old daughter had plenty of room. The room was spotless, and the cleaning service returned the room to impeccable condition every day. The staff was very friendly. We even had cable TV and free wireless Internet. And, very important to me, the hotel was in a good neighborhood. No drunks wandering the parking lot, or fights breaking out in the middle of the night. I have stayed in hotels that cost 3 times as much that were not as nice. This is the best hotel I have stayed in and I will always stay there when traveling through Wasilla. And I always reccommend it to my friends.
“Great place to stay, central to everwhere”
This is a great place to stay if you want to be central. However central in Alaska means a good drive to everywhere. It is about 1 hr. North from Anchorage, 3-4hrs north of Seward, 3 hours south of Denali N.P., 6-7hrs. south of Fairbanks. If you don't mind the drive to Anchorage if staying that area its a nice location. The building is VERY new as of 06/06, and our room still had that "new house" smell. In addition to the full kitchen(noted later), there is a DVD player and cable TV w/ on screen guide Our room was kept very clean and tidy by the staff, but the smoke detector in our room(202)seemed to have been ripped from the ceiling and the battery removed. Probably from a smoker or the rude traveler before us who burned the snot out of thier dinner in the oven and left the blackened chunks in there. The hotel charges a "$100 cleaning fee" if caught smoking in the room). Not a big deal since my wife and I don't smoke. If you do smoke be kind and go downstairs, our bedspread had two cigarette burns, and to keep the new building smell as long as possible. You can save a lot of money staying here and using the full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, pots, pans, plates, glasses, coffee maker [w/complimentary teas _coffee],utensils,full size refrig+freezer)...) Try to get an even number room as you will face south and get the mountain view. Wasilla has lots of store including a Walmart, Fred Meyer (like a super-walmart, but nicer) and lots of fast food and restaurants.
“Great place at a great value”
I stayed here for about 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years. The room was very clean. The room has a full kitchen which was perfect for a longer stay. This is a smaller family run hotel and the service was very friendly and great. The value of this hotel is amazing and will stay there again.
“More like staying with family only BETTER”
Tonya was so nice she was like family. It was better than any place I have ever stayed. Beat the Princess in Fairbanks HANDS DOWN, A return is a must. I know Alaska is a once in a lfe time trip for most, I wanna go back ASAP. Wasilla is the dimond of Alaska's beauty.
“Select Inn”
Very comfortable. Two queen beds were nice. Easy to see and hear television. Great supply of hot water. Wireless internet worked flawlessly. Virtually no noise from other guests.
“Good basic hotel.”
Very similar to a Super 8 - but with a kitchen.
