Lovely hotel - would stop here again
Had a bit of trouble finding it, but when I did it was superb. Room was comfortable and clean, shower was excellent. I ate an evening meal and had breakfast and both were really good. Parking was good even with a long wheelbase van.

We found the gentlemen behind the desk v unhelpful and unfriendly. The hotel itself is like a white somewhat white bunker in the middle of a field. The atmosphere was v generic. The hotel was somewhat clean. The rooms nicely appointed but you could b anywhere in the world w no personality or feeling of being in Italy. The TV screen was the size of a computer screen. The breakfast was good. The pool was smaller than expected and closed at 7pm which was weird bc sunset was 8:30pm. Parking was great.

The room was in the ground floor but we had a basement feeling, there is no elevator as well. The breakfast quality and options were not good, flys flying around our table. The service was Ok. Maximum 3 stars I would say...

I booked DOUBLE STANDARDS ROOM.with Mountain View. When I get there, I was placed in the basement under ground level. With mosquitoes in the room. Very dark and depressing. Completely different from what I booked. When question management the have no availabile room on first floor. MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO CANCELLED MY RESERVATION AFTER CALL EXPEDIA ABOUT SIX TIMES. COULD NOT EXCESS INTERNET POOR SERVICE. Had to call my telephone carrier in USA TO ADD ON INTERNATIONAL FEATURES IN ORDER TO USE MY PHONE. Another , unforeseen expense. The BLONDE LADY VERY COLD PERSON . She MAKES YOU FEEL AS IF YOU DON’T BELONG THERE. Breakfast was good. Older gentleman in dining area was kind.

Not what we were promised. The pictures on line are not what you get at all. This was a complete bait and switch experience. They claim they have AC but it doesn't cool the room at all. They opened the doors to the outside while we were gone. When we returned the room was filled with bugs and we got eaten alive all night long. The staff and the breakfast was very nice.

Lovely hotel.
Beautiful boutique hotel located a few hundred metres from Bagno Tropicana beach at Sarzana. Very peaceful with all the usual facilities. Only thing missing is a lift to upper floors. Great service and breakfast

A very comfortable hotel to see great places aroun
d and go to the sea ,to rest . It was a good base for 5 nights stay. Sarsana , at the old center , is a small town like out of a Felini film. Two good restorants at the main piaza , lokal food , not expensive.

Our little oasis
We had a wonderful week at Locanda Dell'Angelo,,it was like our little oasis. We almost had the lovely pool to ourselves most of the time. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The local town of Sarzana is only 10 minutes drive away where you can find lots of lovely restaurants. Well worth a visit.

Lovely hotel, shame about the loca area
Lovely staff, very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and pool was perfect for families. Breakfast was good too. The only downside was the area... unless you have a reason to be in this location, it isn't ideal for families as it was overcrowded in the summer season, we had trouble parking anywhere and there was little to do for little ones.

This hotel wasn't very nice and service was terrible. I would avoid it if you can. Air con doesn't work, for Italy and a four star hotel the food was also poor!

Good hotel if you get it at a budget price
Hotel is a few km from anything else, so you need a car. Rooms are good, air conditioning works well, staff are very efficient - check-in was instant with no questions or form-filling (as it should be in any hotel when you've booked through hotels.com but rarely is!). Only two downsides to this hotel are 1) the brutal check-out time of 10am, and 2) they charge you 3 Euros for hot drinks at the (otherwise free and included) breakfast. I don't understand why they do this and I've never seen this is another hotel.

This is very misleading. At best this is a 2.5 star place. After 3 weeks travelling italy it was the worst place i stayed in this price range. Would not recommend or come back.

This was a tricky place to find, and the hosts were not fluent in English at all, and it was hard not to feel a bit uncomfortable here, but the views out the windows and the pool area are fabulous. Remote and relaxing, and well located for a drive to Cinque Terre

Friendly, relaxing family run hotel
A friendly and relaxing hotel in a quiet location away from the buzz of the nearby beaches. A short walk from local restaurants and convenient for all the regional attractions ( by car). The owner and his wife couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The hotel was immaculately clean and well maintained and room was spacious with an open view across the inlet to the headland beyond. An early morning swim followed by a relaxed breakfast was a great way to set yourself up for the day. We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location
Get the only negatives out of the way first: not easily accessable via public transport; beach not easy to get to (walk along a busy road with no pavement) and costs to use beach; so supermarket nearby. BUT, the positive to all of the above is that it is in a beautiful, out of the way location. The restaurant on site is expensive (drinks at the bar reasonable), but the manager was so helpful in pointing us in the direction of cheaper places nearby (10 mins walk and 30 mins walk) which also served lovely food. The pool was quiet and while relatively small was just big enough for a keen swimmer like myself to do a few meaningful laps, and again a beautiful place to relax surrounded by views of fields and mountains. I cant say enough positive things about the staff: very pleasant, helpful and patient, even helping me with practicing my basic italian. I definitely intend on returning again, and possibly bringing more people with me who would appreciate a quiet place to stay.

Very nice, well looked after hotel, in the country side but very close to Sarzana (less than 10 minutes by car) 30 km from La Spezia and Cinque Terre. We liked it very much. The manager Stefano is fully attantive to allo the guests needs.

Fantastic classic designed by Magistretti.
Warm welcoming hosts , a beautiful setting amongst basil fields and a calm place to relax by the pool. I was surprised when we arrived to find that the hotel seemed so DESIGNED, then was told that it was designed by Magistretti in the mid seventies, with many original pieces of furniture and lighting remaining (as well as the building itself). It's a 5 or 10 minute drive to most villages, (although one would be a 20 minute walk) so we chose different places to go each day. Lovely beaches, beautiful walking, interesting marble mining and lovely Sarzana if you fancy wandering about a larger town.

Staff cannot do enough for you. Brilliant hosts. Hotel spotless, lovely pool and generally great hotel. Not much around on foot but beach and everything 5 mins in the car. Will come again. Great.

Solid choice
The hotel is surrounded by agricultural fields a bit out of town. The manager was very helpful and was there whenever we were around from 9 in the morning at breakfast to seeing him in the dining room at 11 at night when we were returning to the hotel. The room was spacious with a decent shower and plenty of hot water and water pressure along with good towels. The ground floor where the lobby is is actually the second floor (U.S. terms) where the rooms are because the land slopes to the rear. The rooms a floor below are off a corridor the is below ground level and the windows open directly on the back lawn. We didn't feel comfortable there and the manager moved us up a floor immediately. Breakfast was decent and the best of any of the four hotels we stayed in in Italy over the trip. Wi-fi was a little spotty in the room, but we could usually connect.. Never a problem in the lobby. The pool was very nice and they supply special towels for it. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. The staff really tried to please. We'd definitely recommend to friends.

Although the bed was uncomfortable and the building showed some age the staff more than made up for it. The manager spoke excellent English addressed me by first name every time he saw me and offered some great suggestions for activities and dining in the local area. If I could change one thing I would have added more variety on the breakfast buffet. It was limited and after 5 days it got tiring.

Friendly hotel staff w/large rooms and pool
Hotel is located around a 20 min drive to La Spezia where you can catch the train to Cinque Terre to see the 5 towns. Showed up no problem on the GPS. Also, it is only a 10 minute drive to the quarries where the marble that was used in the Statue of David in Florence was mined. The room we stayed in with 2 kids was very large, even for US standards. Only complaint would be the tub and shower, kind of small. Otherwise this hotel was excellent. The staff went out of there way to help us. No matter what time we showed back up at the hotel they met us at the car to help with our kids and bags. We had a large breakfast each morning that included fresh cut fruits (peaches, pineapple, strawberries, and melon), ham, cheese, bread, jams, cereal, milk, juice, pastries, and coffee made on the spot to order. Also offered eggs if we wanted them. Can not say enough about how friendly the hotel staff was.

If you have a car this is a great place to come back to after a busy day at the cinque terre. A cool drink while swimming in their lovely pool was something we looked forward to. Stayed 3 nights, ate in house on our first night, delicious food, ate in surrounding villages other nights. Everything good with one.

Our host Stefano ŵas very helpful in recommending day trips, places to eat. The location of the hotel is central to everything, the breakfast is plentiful and free wi- fi too. Very relaxing stay, definitely recommend this place.

Lovely hotel - very clean and comfortable. Food is incredible, but expensive! Definitely worth a try one night if you can! Staff are fantastic - very friendly and helpful. They know a lot about the area and are good at recommending things. The hotel is surrounded by fields and the mountains in the distance. It's quite close to the beach - 1km or so, but everything else is a little drive away. We drove everywhere, and it was a good base for visiting nearby cities - Lucca, Lerici and the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, Pisa, even Florence - but that's only really manageable if you have a car.
