the experience at the courtyard by marriott i naltoona was excellent. the room was very clean and comfortable and the staff was very professional. we will return at a later date.

My friends and I are local to this area and needed a place to stay for New Year's Eve. The hotel was very clean and nice. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
“Breakfast”
Everything at this hotel was extremely nice. The only problem was that they only had one person working breakfast. I realize it was a Monday, but there still should have been a few more employees to help her. She was the cashier, hostess, waitress, cook and bus girl. She did an extemely awesome job but I really did feel that they should have had a few more employees helping this poor young woman.
“Newer, Business Atmosphere”
This Courtyard location is similar to others I have stayed in and is best oriented toward the business traveler. In fact, it is located right on the grounds of the Convention Center in Altoona. It suited us for one night of our family vacation because it was conveniently situated on our route, offered an indoor pool and promised the quality we've come to expect of Marriott. We were not disappointed. It presents as a near-new establishment and is very clean and well-maintained. The fitness center is better than many and the pool and surrounding area was also clean, stocked with towels, and well-kept. One advantage of this location may be the relative absence of small children, since most of the guests appeared to be business travelers. We have an 11-year-old, and have nothing against children, but some hotels that cater to families can feel overwhelmed with kids and detract from the enjoyment of your stay. That was not the case here. Because of its functional approach to inn-keeping, the hotel has a fairly sterile atmosphere, but if you're searching for atmosphere you should be looking elsewhere in the first place. Here is a clean, newer, quality establishment, with all the right amenities, including wireless Internet, a dearth of wailing children, friendly staff and nice rooms. All in all, we would gladly stay again.
“Exactly what you'd hope for...”
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable. Decent value, probably the nicest you'd find in the Altoona area. Wish they had a full restaraunt on site though. Will definitely stay at again.

The room smelled of musty cigarette smoke amd it was a non-smoking room. Would have been nice to know about the remodeling going on. Indoor pool was closed, ( main reason I chose the hotel) along with the restaurant and lounge.
