“Not impressed”

We told them we would be arriving late when we made the reservations. When we arrived in Allentown, we could not find the motel, so we called and asked for directions. The directions were not correct so it was about 2:15 a.m. before we finally found the motel, after asking several people. Other than that, the stay was fine.

“Econolodge Allentown, PA.”

I've stayed at this motel 7 times since 1999 - It's a basic, no-frills motel thatprovides a clean, comofrtable room for the night. I've never encountered any troublesome people in the motel or the area - the area is comparable to where I live- Worcester, Mass. The area of motel has food stores, CVS, restaurants in close driving or even walking distance. It has a good nighttly rate. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator and the motel has a free continental breakfast, which is a nice amenity. It can get alittle noisy because it's near train tracks, but it seemed much less noisy this time. I would definitely recommend this motel, as long it's the type of place you are looking for. Personally, I think it's a very underrated place, judging by some other reviews I've read. I've stayed at the motel enough times to vouch for it.

“The shack next to the tracks”

Other than a motel I stayed in that had a roach infestation, this was probably one of the worst motels I've stayed in. Seedy characters coming and going late at night, holes and stains on the sheets, holes in the wall where the towel rack was moved but nobody took the effort to fill the old holes, no volume on the TV, neighbors that carried on until 5:30 in the morning - loudly, the train which was fifty yards outside the front door which went by every half hour. If you don't mind these amenities, this is the spot for you. Personally, I'm probably NEVER going to stay at an Econo lodge due to the lax conditions. I've been travelling to more than sixty countries and this was the most squalid I've ever seen. I'd recommend somewhere else, a tent is better...at least you know what you're getting into. Stay away.

“Terrible”

Probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. 1. Air conditioner unit would not turn off unless unplugged. Control buttons didn't work. 2. No hot water. 3. Another group of guests held a party in the parking lot underneath my 2nd story window. This party went on from around 6p to after 2a. 4. The front desk clerk continued to eat his Subway dinner as I was checking in. 5. The property was disgusting

“Hard beds and trains at 3:00 AM”

Avoid this location at all costs. The beds were like stones and the property borders a very active freight rail line with trains every 2 hours at night. The whistle would wake the dead, even if the rattle of the ground did not.
