“Very spacious, fantastic hotel”
We went to Cabanas Park at the beginning of July, and it was great. The 1 bedroom apartment was very spacious, with a good view over the delta and Tavira area. I would not hesitate to reccomend this hotel and I already have! Cabanas is a great place to relax, the room was clean and the pool area was fantastic. Although we didnt bring children here, it is a good place for them, with plenty of things for them to do. Great hotel, relaxing atmosphere, cant wait until we go there again!
“fantastic hotel”
A lovely hotel with very spacious rooms, air conditioning and two sets of balcony doors. The room was cleaned regularly to a good standard. The location was a bit quiet for us and we found a lack of good restaurants in Cabanas itself. We prefered to eat in nearby Tavira which is a short drive away. Great beach boat to the quiet beach.
“Calm, quiet and child friendly.”
Exeptionally clean and well presented rooms (photos do not do them justice)with bath and shower. No kettle but coffee maker and all mod cons otherwise. Comfortable appartment to spend the evening when kids in bed. Reception service varied with staff. Area good and locals/restaurants lovely in Cabanas.
“Fantastic Pool and Beach”
We were really pleased with the hotel pool, so much so, the kids didn't want to move away from it. The beach was a short ferry ride away and wasn't busy, with lovely white, clean sand and gorgeous clear water. The village was only 10 minutes walk away and had ample bars & restaurants. The rooms were basic, but clean and with plenty of room. The hotel restaurant served a nice variety of food with a buffet style breakfast. The evening meals could be ordered off the menu, or you could have a very reasonably priced selection from the buffet, which our kids especially enjoyed. The hotel was quiet and we often had the pool to ourselves, as the majority of guests were Portugese, so they had nice long siestas. We would definately recommend this hotel and come back again.
“cant wait to go back”
these apartments are lovely they are too a high standard with all mod cons inc steam room jazuzzi they are great for kids being very safe and not near any busy roads. Watersports are included as is the boat to the beach which only takes 5 mins, tavira is 3 miles away with lovely restaurants by the river, cabanas has some nice restaurants also but you have to pick one away from the smell of sewage at the roundabout near the apartments but their is no such problem at the apartments which are about 5 mins away, we will being going back without a doubt, if you want to go to the algarve and get away from the british bars and noise this is the place, also their is a fantastic beach at manta rota about 5 mins drive away on the n125 towards s. Antonia it stretches for about 3 miles.
“Brilliant Hotel”
We went to this fantastic hotel during the last week of August this year. On arriving we were met with a very helpful and polite receptionist who provided us with information on the facilities, including a wristband for use in the gym/steam room and for journeys across to the beach on the free boat. Our room wasnt ready but we had a pleasant (and reasonably priced) drink at the pool bar for about 20mins. The room was worth waiting for! Two good sized bedrooms and a spacious lounge/diner/kitchenette. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay although a kettle would have been nice as I missed my morning cup of tea! The pool area was well maintained and clean. No waiting for sunbeds or more to the point saving sunbeds. We mostly arrived at the pool daily at around half ten and there was always plenty of beds, it was great! The children loved the pool and its foot shape! The other equipment provided for daily use such as footballs, goals, bouncy castle, bats and balls were an added delight/bonus to our children. The 12yr old was either playing football against the portugese holiday makers (no mention of the World Cup incident thankfully!) or trying to juggle with the juggling balls. Neither child said the dreaded "Im bored!" which was delightful. The trip to the beach was worth it. The boat "driver" was friendly, (loved english football so that went down well) and the journey was quick. The beach itself was glorious, white sand and huge! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
“Would definitely go back!”
The hotel was excellent: 1. Room/apartment was large with a bedroom, lounge, lovely bathroom with excellent shower, air con in the lounge and bedroom and little kitchen and dining table. Balcony was big with a little table and chairs out to sit and enjoy either the view of the pool or of the salt marshes and Tavira town. 2. Facilities were excellent - huge pool (very cold mind!) with ample sun loungers, nice bar and little snack restaurant for the day - gym, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi on the roof of the hotel - very nice! 3. 10-15 min walk into the village of Cabanas - lovely little village with loads of little restaurants - mainly seafood, and as fresh as you can imagine. 1 night club, which is quite a walk away from town, and therefore no nuisance, and a few bars / tavernas with very friendly people. I can't wait to go back next year!
“Very Good”
Very new, extremely well maintained resort. Cabanas Park has been described elesewhere as more efficient than friendly, and we would have to agree. Perhaps it trys to maintain its 4 stars a little too hard, but all in all we couldnt fault any of their services. I would say though if you're a 'pool person', being at Cabanas Park all day everyday may get a little dull even though the pool is huge and very clean - not much in the way of entertainment etc, but for us - who prefer the beach all day and low key accomodation, it was great. Its a good 10 minute walk to the charming (and very friendly ) Cabanas Village and then 2 minutes on a boat to the beach. Boat runs fairly continuously all day till 8pm. We would recommend the boat from the village as it takes you to the busier part of the beach with decent beach bar and toilet facilities. Free resort boat drops you off a bit far away from anything. Beach is fantastic! Village food is reasonable - nothing special, but whether you stay at Cabanas Park or nearby - DO absolutely try their restaurant, it is actually fantastic food, cooked with flair, imagination and attention to detail that you will not find in most of the Algarve - seriously, its that good - just dont expect a laugh and joke with the waiters! although it is a fairly informal place. Nice part of the Algarve - not as built up as West of Faro. Very high standard accomodation and very good value. We'd go back!
“Lovely hotel, very relaxed, great Beach”
We stayed here for 4 days in July 2006. Its about a 10 min walk to the boat which takes you over the river (100m wide), from here it is another 5 mins walk through the tidal salt marshes to the beach. The marshes are very pretty, we only saw a couple of herons, but in spring I think you'd get a lot of bird life. The Beach is fantastic. There are only 2 bars over 3 miles of golden squeaky sand, and you can find yourself a spot away from anyone if you want - although there are 2 lifeguarded areas too. The hotel has lovely grounds which have been well designed with kids in mind. The pool is in the shape of a foot and 4 of the toes are paddling pools. There is a volley ball net and games area on grass which many families used. The rooms were very comfortable, modern and clean. Air con and fridge was cold. The hotel is on the edge of the marshes (they don't smell!) and so isn't hemmed in. A lovely place that we would go back too, especially in the spring when there would be more wildlife about. We used the directions to get there written by one of the other reviewers, very helpful, thankyou!
“Great for a relaxing break”
The Cabanas Park Resort is located 10 mins walk from the small village of Cabanas de Tavira. The village and the hotel are both secluded - if you're looking for pubs and nightlife it's not the place for you. If however you want guilt-free relaxation in beautiful surroundings, it's perfect. There are several bars and restaurants in the village catering to most tastes, all reasonably priced. There's also a (slightly sparsely stocked) supermarket, bakeries and a fishmongers so you can buy food to cook for youself in your apartment - the kitchen more than met our needs for that purpose. There's a train service that will take you along the coast if you want to do anything more than stroll in the sunshine but we really didn't! End of March is very much out of season, so I expect there are more activities and tourists as the year progresses but this met our expectations and requirements just fine. Only down point was the hotel's restaurant - seriously not worth it. But with so many other options, it's a tiny blot on a super holiday.

Area:
Tavira, Portugal: A handsome riverside town, Tavira is famous for its elegant 18th- and 19th-century architecture. Shunning mass tourism, it leaves international-style bars, restaurants and shops to satellite areas such as the beach resort of Cabanas. There are very good local seafood restaurants however. Its medieval castle ruins offer a panoramic view of the town which includes some fine churches. The beaches close by are long, flat and sandy.
