Surfers discovered Pipa in the 1970s, impressed by the waves and the calm village mood. A single road following the coast runs through Pipa, and cobbled streets and overhead phone wires give the town an air of orderly chaos. Surf shops and gift and jewelry outlets can be found, but real draws are the 300 days of sun per year and the incredible surfing offered at 15 different points in the area.
