Amazing! 5/5 Expedia Guest Rating

Te Puia is situated in the geothermal valley of Te Whakarewarewa and is a powerful reminder of the earth’s natural force. It is home to the world famous Pōhutu Geyser, hot springs, silica terraces, bubbling mud pools and cooking pools.

Our guides walk these pathways relaying the wisdom of their ancestors. Through our schools of carving and weaving, we proudly share artistic traditions, passed down through generations.

Steambox utilises a natural steam vent to slowly cook the ingredients that visitors choose themselves, before enjoying a flax workshop and tour. Guests then watch their lunch being lifted from the steam vent before enjoying their picnic lunch overlooking the geyser terrace.

At dusk, Te Puia takes on a magical quality in the illuminated thermal valley. Te Pō is an award-winning evening experience of Māori storytelling, entertainment, a sumptuous banquet and a hot chocolate beside a moonlit Pōhutu geyser.
