Discover the rich history and graceful turns of the Murray River, the longest river in Australia. Board the majestic Proud Mary, built in the style of the historic paddle steamers, and relish the riverbank sights as you enjoy your delicious buffet lunch during this full-day excursion.

Start your journey with a coach trip heading towards Mannum. As mist gently rises off the water, board your river cruise and enjoy stunning scenes of farms, Aboriginal homelands, red gum forests and holiday cottages. Look out for incredible wildlife – kangaroos, emus, koalas and snow-white cockatoos – along the river as you sip on your morning tea.

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch on board as you cruise the Murray's waters. Pass soaring cliffs and green willows as you reach Mannum, the town that started the paddle-steamer era in south-east Australia. Hop off the boat to visit the 100-year-old paddle steamer Marion and wander through the town at your own pace.

Complete your trip with a visit to the green, undulating Adelaide Hills region. Stop at Chain of Ponds and the city of Tea Tree Gully before returning to your Adelaide hotel.

Plenty

I am more than disappointed with our 'river cruise'. Due to my husband's unexpected illness the day before our trip it was decided to drive up to the boat. It appeared that the coach drive from the city was just to get to the boat and nothing extra. So I paid $450 for three people to go on a very poor river cruise. The lunch was passable (very dried up chicken) and the cruise itself was very, very average. The commentary could have been a lot, lot better to start with! As we had drive up to the boat we had to drive back. No details were ever given on any other visits to places of interest on the coach drive back to the city. Were there any? Please explain.
