Explore the dramatic natural settings of Katherine Gorge, deep within the stone country of Nitmiluk National Park. Swim in a refreshing waterhole at Edith Falls and take a scenic cruise through Katherine Gorge, spotting freshwater crocodiles on the banks.

Leave Darwin behind you after a pick-up from your hotel. Journey along the Stuart Highway to the Nitmiluk National Park. Along the way, stop for a break at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, a memorial dedicated to those killed in the Darwin air raids of the 1940s.

Continue your tour to the stunning Edith Falls and take time for a swim in the refreshing waterhole beneath the falls. Alternatively, relax on the grassy banks and marvel at the beautiful surroundings.

After a delicious buffet lunch, take a two-hour scenic cruise through the Katherine Gorge and pass the many sandbanks which are inhabited by freshwater crocodiles. After the first gorge, hop off the boat and take a short walk to the second gorge. Be amazed by the impressive coloured escarpments of the canyon.

Back on your coach, pass through the outback township of Katherine and stop for dinner (not included) at the Adelaide River before your tour concludes in Darwin.

Up before dawn (6.00) what a way to go for a great day out, and boarding a superb coach for the day. Cruising through the outer suburbs with names and locations being explain with the growth of Darwin/Palmeston. First stop, Adelaide River and Commonwealth War Cemetery. Lest we forget. Then on to Pine Creek and insight into days of the gold rush and early transport options in that time. Passing thro Katherine and onto the Gorge in the Nitmiluk National Park for lunch. Lunch great and views a plenty of fauna and flora. Boarding the barge @ 14.00hrs for a 2 hour on /off cruise is breath taking of the upper gorges. With history all around you wether it be Aboriginal art and way of living with the six seasons to natures beauties of millions of years of development. The return trip although long was very rewarding and a delight. This time allowed everyone to reflect collectively on the marvelous day out Excellently orchestrated by AATKings and in perticular, our coach driver, Colin.
