We certainly had a blast when my partner and three children, Stella, Rocco and Frankie spent a few days exploring the markets, experiencing the local culture and of course, hitting the theme parks!<\/p>\n<p>This is one country that has it all \u2013 for kids and for adults. Every day was a different adventure. We felt safe and never ran out of anything to do. The biggest challenge was fitting it all in. Here are a few of our favourite spots:<\/p>\n<h2>Singapore Mermaid School<\/h2>\n<p>Bring out your inner mermaid at Singapore Mermaid School! It\u2019s a chance for silliness \u2013 Stella and Frankie loved doing this with mum. The lesson itself was like a swimming lesson. We were diving in our mermaid tails for \u201cprecious gems\u201d. The girls have these tails at home but it was a great experience to learn how to use them properly from a real-life Singaporean mermaid!<\/p>\n<h2>Universal Studios Singapore<\/h2>\n<p>Get ready for a long day at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.com.au\/things-to-do\/universal-studios-singapore-admission-with-sg5-meal-voucher.a203308.activity-details?brandcid=blog.singaporefamily.author.lindyklim_060916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universal Studios<\/a>, make sure you wear\u00a0comfy shoes! The rides, the characters, the attractions \u2013 the kids charged around excitedly deciding where to go next the entire time. All the kids loved the Madagascar attraction the most. But whatever the age group you can find a good time. In fact, the hardest part was home time!<br \/>\n<img src='https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/blog-img\/9_2016\/12089_227_HT' \/><\/p>\n<h2>Singapore Zoo<\/h2>\n<p>Singapore Zoo was my favourite place to visit. The orangutans at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.com.au\/things-to-do\/jungle-breakfast-with-orangutans-at-singapore-zoo.a310484.activity-details?brandcid=blog.singaporefamily.author.lindyklim_060916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jungle Breakfast<\/a> were hilarious and the kids were thrilled to be sitting so close to them. It was a great opportunity for \u2018compulsory\u2019 selfies too. My tip is to try and get a seat for breakfast right next to the barrier so YOU can watch them eat while THEY watch you eat! Hilarious. Jungle Breakfast will be a memory for all of us forever.<\/p>\n<p>After seeing all the animals at the zoo, the giraffe\u2019s long tongue almost reaching my shoulder was the biggest laugh of the whole day!<\/p>\n<h2>ArtScience Museum<\/h2>\n<p>At first the kids were reluctant to go to the ArtScience Museum &#8211; \u201cmuseums are boring!\u201d Well I can tell you that it was an unexpected hit and they all loved it!<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Future World\u2019 exhibition was incredible and it was wonderful to see the kids getting fully involved. At one point they all made drawings, which were scanned and then came to life as animations on the floor and walls of the museum. But without a doubt, everyone\u2019s favourite part was the room of diamonds titled \u2018Crystal Universe\u2019. It was hypnotic and oh-so-moving.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p><img src='https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/blog-img\/9_2016\/12089_225_HT' \/><\/p>\n<h2>Tiong Bahru<\/h2>\n<p>Some of my favourite homeware shops can be found among the small picturesque streets of Tiong Bahru. here. The area is truly a treasure and grown-ups will enjoy the history and charm of old time Singapore.<\/p>\n<h2>Skyline Luge Sentosa<\/h2>\n<p>Why walk when you can float above the treetops at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skylineluge.com\/luge-singapore\/skyline-luge-sentosa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Skyline Luge Sentosa<\/a>? Wow what a view! The luge part was fast and furious, the whole family had a bit of a race. I lost! Rocco, my son, is a little scared of heights but he still felt safe on the chairlift, which took us back up the hill afterwards. I love holiday activities that don&#8217;t leave the kids exhausted and this one was a winner.<\/p>\n<h2>Gardens by the Bay<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.com.au\/things-to-do\/gardens-by-the-bay-admission.a341806.activity-details?brandcid=blog.singaporefamily.author.lindyklim_060916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gardens<\/a> are super relaxing, so time a visit with the end of a few days of activities when you need a bit of a break from the sightseeing. The kids loved the \u2018Garden Rhapsody\u2019, my son loved this the most out of the whole trip. Lay down and let the lights and music carry you away. I loved the gardens themselves. The waterfall in Cloud Forest was a spectacular sight but the sound of falling water was what I remember most.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p><img src='https:\/\/images.trvl-media.com\/media\/content\/expaus\/images\/blog-img\/9_2016\/12089_231_HT' \/><\/p>\n<h2>Where to stay<\/h2>\n<p>Hidden away on Sentosa Island, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.com.au\/Singapore-Hotels-Sofitel-Singapore-Sentosa-Resort-Spa.h330576.Hotel-Information?brandcid=blog.singaporefamily.author.lindyklim_060916\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa<\/a> is newly refurbished and a great family-friendly place to stay. It also doesn&#8217;t skimp on the luxury. Don&#8217;t miss the complimentary fish spa and keep your eyes open for the peacocks, which add a touch of magic.
