During the last school holidays we took our family of five to Singapore. Travelling overseas with 3 kids (including a 15 month old energetic toddler) is not the easiest thing to do but we\u2019ve taken our kids to a few other Asian countries in the past including Cambodia and Thailand so we had a bit of experience leading up to this trip.<\/p>\n

If anything Singapore was a bit easier to negotiate with kids because the water was safe to drink, we didn’t need any immunisations and as a whole the country was very clean and easy to get around. These are all big pluses when travelling with kids.<\/p>\n

For our trip here we stayed at a fantastic hotel called Fraser Place Robertson Walk <\/a>which was central to the hub of activity in Singapore. This hotel was fantastic for our family. We had a three bedroom serviced apartment with a kitchen and washing machine and it was reasonably priced. The hotel also had an indoor play area for toddlers, a toddler pool and playground \u2013\u00a0definitely family friendly! We skipped the included breakfast, opting instead to use our own kitchen facilities and the supermarket across the road for supplies.<\/p>\n

During our stay in\u00a0central Singapore we managed to visit a few places that are great for kids:

\nThe Singapore Zoo was one of the highlights for the whole family. We\u2019ve been to a few zoos in our time but they had nothing on how amazing this zoo was. There\u2019s so many animals to see, our kids were the most excited about the polar bears. The zoo\u2019s layout was easy to navigate \u2013\u00a0I loved the walkways. They made it easy for our 15 month old to get out of the pram and have a walk which is all he wanted to do, and I felt comfortable about everyone\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d recommend paying the extra $5 to have access to the shuttle trains. The zoo is big and it\u2019s a big day of walking for the little ones. Having shuttle trains every five minutes coming and going to take us to the next location was fantastic.<\/p>\n

We also had a chance to visit Gardens By The Bay both in the evening and during the day. We thought this attraction was amazing. The kids did get a bit bored during the day walking around the gardens however there was a free water park onsite which helped to break it up for them with a bit of active fun. There seemed to be free water parks everywhere in Singapore So we always packed some togs and towels. Make sure to visit the gardens in the evening as the lights are incredible.

\nIt was quite hot during the time of year we visited Singapore so we were looking for indoor activities we could do to give the kids some relief from the humidity. We visited the local Science Centre which ended up being a really affordable day out. It was under $10 to enter and it has some really fun and interactive activities for the kids.<\/p>\n

While we were at the Science Centre precinct we also visited a place called Kids Stop. Kids Stop is an indoor play centre with a science theme where kids get to pretend play with a range of activities with a science twist. It was aimed at toddlers-lower primary aged children and our kids had a blast playing in all of the different areas.

\nThe last activity we did on our Science Centre day was visit Snow City which is Singapore\u2019s first permanent indoor snow centre. It was partially closed for upgrades while we were there, but \u00a0we did get to ride down the three story high snow hill on a tire and that was fun!<\/p>\n

Overall there was plenty to do with the kids during our four days in Singapore \u2013\u00a0they really had a blast!<\/p>\n
