In my last blog on visiting Singapore with my family, I wrote about the top five things we did with our kiddos in Singapore city which you can read all about here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After spending four nights in the heart of Singapore, we headed to Sentosa Island for another four nights which is where the fun really began.<\/p>\n

There are 14 hotels on Sentosa Island\u00a0and we were lucky enough to stay at The Movenpick Heritage Hotel<\/a>. When we first booked at the Movenpick I was super excited \u2013\u00a0I thought \u00a0it had some kind of connection with the Movenpick ice cream brand (it still might, I have no idea) and that there was a good chance there would be free ice cream on tap the whole time we were there. Unfortunately, I was wrong.<\/p>\n

The most fantastic thing about this hotel was the location. It was situated directly across from a tram station from where the tram took just two minutes to get into the centre of Resorts World Sentosa, which is where all the action is.

\nRight across from our hotel was the Merlion. What is this Merlion I hear you say? Part lion part fish, this mythical creature perches atop the Singaporean shores and is the personification of their city and guardian of the historic harbour.<\/p>\n

The Merlion is 37 meters tall and lights up at night. You can even take a tour inside the Merlion to capture the view of the mouth. The girls did love the Merlion and it was a fun to wake up to every morning!<\/p>\n

The highlight of Sentosa for our two older girls was Adventure Cove Waterpark<\/a>\u00a0in Resorts World. We spent a whole day at Adventure Cove and all the girls spoke about was going back. What was great about this Waterpark is the girls could go on most of the bigger slide rides with an adult. Miss 5 had to miss out on a few but there were so many other attractions and things to do that she didn’t mind at all.<\/p>\n

Even our little dude had a go on one of the slides with dad and it was a fun family day all round. The waterpark is reasonably priced with adult tickets costing $36 and $26 for kids.

\nThe highlight for our little guy would have to be the S.E.A. Aquarium<\/a>. We spent half a day visiting this amazing aquarium, with the kids getting up close and personal with some amazing sea animals. It is home to more than 100,000 marine animals of over 800 species, in 49 different habitats, each one as fascinating as the next. The girls\u2019 favourite enclosure was the shark sea but our little guy was in awe of the giant aquarium.

\nUnfortunately we were unable to visit Universal Studios due to the weather, on my list for our return as it also looks like a great day out.<\/p>\n

Sentosa Island has a 2km stretch of beach as well as a whole range of smaller activities to do with a family on any kind of budget.<\/p>\n

The tram is fantastic and only takes 10 minutes total to get from one end to the other. If you\u2019re staying on Sentosa Island then you get a pass to use the tram for free for the duration of your stay. The tram goes from one end of the Island to the other with the option of getting off at Vivo City Shopping Mall which is on the mainland. It is only $6 to purchase a ticket to visit Sentosa via the tram from Vivo City and a great way to get among the fun if you are not staying on the island.<\/p>\n

Singapore is very family friendly and a great place to take your kids on a holiday!<\/p>\n
