"Even though we're part of a big global company, we're keen to establish real community links here in Australia. Our team here strive to make your travel easy and stress-free, and we want to show you that we also care about the community. That's why we've partnered with Barnardos Australia.
Barnardos have been caring for marginalised kids and families for over 120 years. We decided their work was a great community cause and we decided to get involved. Not just by throwing money at them, but by rolling up our sleeves and offering support from our skilled and dedicated team. We want to help Barnardos affect positive change for severely disadvantaged kids here in Australia.
By empowering our staff we've already organised special outings with kids, done fundraising and provided expert support around digital best practice; our specialty. We're proud of this association and look forward to updating you on our achievements as our partnership evolves. Watch this space for updates on our socially responsible activity!"

As the Gold Travel Sponsor of the Barnardos Mother of the Year awards this year we were delighted to accommodate all of the lovely finalists and their families in Sydney; as they were recognized for their exemplary work as mothers, mentors and volunteers. We were very excited to provide the winner, Ros Dodson, with a well deserved beach break to Surfers Paradise for her and her family including flights, accommodation, theme park passes and a fine dining experience at Luke Mangan's renowned Salt Grill.
Those who attended the awards ceremony from Expedia were moved by the selfless dedication that each of the finalists demonstrated in their daily lives and the amazing work that Barnardos does in recognizing them. We were honored to be part of the awards.
This Barnardos outing took us on a wonderful adventure exploring the plains of Africa, the rainforests of the Amazon and the oceans of the Pacific at Sydney's Taronga Zoo. Our bus load of 4-12 year olds proved an energetic bunch, and their enthusiasm followed them throughout the day. It was fantastic to be able to give them an experience that they may not otherwise have had and the squeals of delight at each enclosure were rewarding for all those Expedian's lucky enough to attend.
With an extra large group of Barnardos kids from all over Sydney and Wollongong we set out on a day of adrenaline filled laughter at Luna Park. After breaking up into small groups, Expedia staff accompanied the children on a myriad of rides, ranging from scary roller coasters to the unencumbered views of the Ferris wheel. After filling the kids up with lunch and lollies we had a slightly more low key afternoon, before fare welling the group after a fun yet exhausting day.
It was easy to get caught up in the excitement as we were lead through the exhibits by a group of Barnardos kids. What an amazing group with the most infectious of personalities. There is no better way to see the wonders of the deep than through the eyes of a child. Everyone had an absolute ball.
