No hot shower after hiking all day
We, a party of 3, planned to spend 3 nights, but cut our vacation short by one day. The day of our arrival, we noticed that the single handle control for the tub/shower did not work. At its best, it mixed much cold water with a little hot one to make the shower “warm cold”. We wrote a message telling the property management about this and asked for a fix the next day. Due to the weak cell phone signal, it took many tries to send and finally went out after midnight. We got a reply telling us the office would be open 7am to 10 pm and someone would get back ASAP. The second day had warm sunshine and blue sky. We hiked part of the 4-mile trail up toward the Glacier Point and trails around the Ahwahnee. When we got back after much exercise and sweating, we couldn’t tell if anyone had stopped by. When we tried the faucet in the tub, it did come out with a burst of hot water, but then it went back to the old behavior. One person in our party was brave enough to take the shower, but he came out shivering. So we wrote another message to tell the management team we demanded a resolution by 10 am the next day; otherwise, we would leave one day earlier and ask for a refund. It took a few tries but the message went out after 10 pm. Again, we got the canned answer saying the team would respond 7am to 10pm. On the third day, we didn’t get any response, so we started packing at 10am and left. We simply cannot stand the thought of another day touring in the park without a proper shower. The day after we got home (the last day of our vacation as originally planned), we finally received a text message. It didn’t acknowledge any thing about the broken shower control, yet asked us to take the garbage out and put the dishes in the washer. Sorry! We left the subject rental the day before and we had been charged $169 for cleaning.
