The rooms are large, clean and nicely decorated. The staff are very friendly. However, our room was very noisy. We could hear constant noise from the street and hotel corridor, making it difficult to sleep. The taps in our toilet and shower were both broken when we arrived, so we couldn't get a hot shower on the first morning. However, the issue was fixed quickly, when we made staff aware.

because Hotel The Grand was one of the best hotels myself and wife has stayed in From day one when the staff were so helpful and offered us an upgrade we accepted it Te room was beautiful together with a bath and shower and another shower The food was excellent at breakfast The location was by the train station and local amenities I thank all staff for a fantastic experience and we will come back again soon.our stay was for 4 nights Thankyou

Always a lovely welcome. Excellent location. Nice and quiet given it’s the city centre. Generous size rooms with tea and coffee making facilities. Great staff which is most important. We will be back and highly recommend.

Apart from the Hotel Grand York asked for reserving 50 GBP in a credit card (on which didn't release this blocking yet even after 2 weeks pass by, the hotel is good in terms of hospitality. The luggage storage is professional. The location is very good (in a walking distance from the train station and major attractions).

As the only 5 star hotel in York. There is a level of service and accommodation you expect. The Grand exceeded all of these expectations from the start of your stay the porter bringing your luggage to your room. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable always a smile on their faces. The 1906 bar is amazing so much choice drinks wise and the comfiest chairs. The rise restaurant for breakfast or dinner is delectable good vegan choices as well.

A welcome return to this lovely building in the centre of York - great service from the whole team - bed so comfortable. Bar food very good - comfortable place to eat and drink with attentive staff. Although this is priced at the. upper end of York prices the service was worth it.

While the room itself was clean, it was a bit outdate, and the bathroom door was hard to fully close, and when it was closed, it was difficult to get out! There was an awful smell in the lobby for the duration of our short stay (the odor didn't get in the room, thanfully). The staff was nice and accommodating. If you want a classic hotel experience, this would be a good choice. But if you're expecting more "modern" amenities, you'll be disappointed.

We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at The Grand and overall had a great experience. Highly recommended for family trips. 1. Parking: We went for the valet parking which is convenient as you can arrive at the hotel, unload and then the valet takes your car to the nearby NCP for you. You can park at your NCP yourself for a cheaper price, however we were informed by the hotel that they have their own floor in the NCP carpark so it's really down to personal preference. 2. Check-in: The process was pleasant and efficient. The member of staff was very polite and interacted with our children. They also provided packs to the children containing various items including 'Grand Dollars' which could be redeemed for a dessert, drink and other items available on a menu in the room. 3. Rooms: We had two twin rooms which were modern, clean and spacious. Very happy with the facilities. If possible, ask for a room that doesn't face the road, it can get pretty noisy. 4. Breakfast: You have various options: a la carte, hot buffet and continental. Everything was of a good standard but make sure you don't leave things too late as you can be waiting around for pastries etc to be replenished. 5. Location: Excellent location. Easy to walk to location attractions, restaurants, tea rooms etc. For example, the Minster and Jorvik centre are all within walking distance. 6. Why not 5 stars: We had an unfortunate incident on the last morning where there was a mixup and breakfast hadn't been

Loved the grandeur of the place, the focus all the staff had catering for every guest and the attention to detail given achieving this. Fantastic spotless luxury room. A dining experience second to none in the Rise Restaurant, with exceptional food and service.
