We based ourselves here for 8 nights & it was a fantastic location for touring as far west as Langebaan, as far east as Montagu and as far south as Stellenbosch. The pictures do not lie, the scenery here is amazing & our cottage, Pinotage was as pictured. It was lovely to arrive to a bottle of chilled Seven Oaks white wine, handmade cookies, milk, coffee & tea. Jacqui's directions were spot on.
We got great use of the outside braai & Ceres was great for food shopping. Close by are 3 farm stalls which are well stocked. We also visited restaurants located nearby, all of which were excellent - Bergsig Bistro, Olive Terrace at Tulbagh Hotel & Bosjes.
Everyone we met was so friendly. We had a great chat with Louie, Jacqui's farm manager who was a mine of information on everything from viticulture to travel. His dog, Trompie definitely is the mascot for the cottages, such a friendly little dog.
It is the small things that make the difference & theses were in evidence here - the temperature dropped unexpectedly & hot water bottles complete with covers & a homemade throw were left for us, a lovely bottle of Seven Oaks Chenin Blanc was dropped in later in the week (definitely recommend the Chenin Blanc) & use of Shiraz cottage's large porch for almost all the week.
We had such good nights sleep here, very comfortable beds & linen.
The service we received from Jacqui & her staff was excellent - friendly yet discreet, chatty yet not intrusive and always available.
