I defy anyone to find friendlier staff than those at The Elmer - nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel welcome from the minute you step through the door. The food in the restaurant is really good - particularly useful to know as there's nowhere else nearby to eat! We had a wonderful walk along the beach before dinner. Our only 'gripe' is that the towels in the bathroom are very small - and this is a very minor moan. Highly recommend The Elmer - this is a return visit for us and, hopefully, not the last one either!

We absolutely LOVE staying here when we come to the UK and are visiting our friends who live in Bognor Regis! All the staff is absolutely amazing from breakfast all the way to nightly drinks at the bar!

Well, Saturday night above a pub with a pool table. Hmmh, what could go wrong. Comfortable and plenty of room. It was good that our dog could stay with us.

This is a lovely & friendly pub/restaurant. Nothing is too much for the stall to help with anything. Food is very tasty & fresh. They allow dogs too. Will definitely stay again!! Lovely walks & right near the sea.

This was a return visit to The Elmer - the staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful, they are the reason to stay here - nothing is too much trouble. We had a very enjoyable dinner and breakfast the following morning. The weather was very hot and a member of staff went out of her way to find us a second fan for the room. The beach is in walking distance we had a really lovely walk along the coast. We'd definitely recommend The Elmer and happily return again.

Can't judge a book by its cover.
We chose the Elmer as it was convenient for a 'get together' with people we had not seen for a long time. The meal we had was very good and the staff were very pleasant, in fact all the staff were very nice and made us feel welcome, so we had a great time. The room was a bit 'faded' but everything was clean and tidy and the room was warm. Two issues, the first was the lighting in the corridor that only illuminated when you got near the sensor, that was a bit off putting, the second was the step from the landing on to the stair. Although marked with a white band was a little tricky when holding a bag and could be an issue for some people. The front bar seemed to be full of local characters and a noisy game of pool. Well it is a pub so expected. So that's it, our review of the Elmer. We will stay there again.

The Elmer is a very unassuming pub/restaurant and hotel with the most amazing staff who produce a fantastic atmosphere. We stayed for two nights and hadn't booked in advance to eat either night - both Friday and Saturday were very busy, an engagement party on the Friday and a Charity Race Evening on the Saturday. We were fitted in both nights with no issue at all. The Elmer is clearly the hub of the community, the staff knew everybody by name. Our room was clean and comfortable with an ensuite shower and perfect for a short stay. Breakfast is cooked fresh to order, our only comment being that we wished it had started earlier - but we didn't waste that time waiting, we went for a lovely walk along the beach first which is just a stone's throw away. We would definitely return to The Elmer and recommend it too.

The room was spacious with plenty of storage but not many coat hangers. The bed was lower than we are used to but it was comfortable and all the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Also the breakfast wes very good. We had a lovely stay.

We love the Elmer.
This was our second stay at the Elmer. Just as good as our first. Lovely welcome, excellent food. Made us take away breakfast sandwiches as we left early each day. We will return again next year.

Some rooms above a pub, mine was spacious, basic but more than sufficient for my needs. Breakfast was more than ample and Angie couldn't do enough to help. And if you love the beach - its only a short walk away.

The lady what served the breakfast was lovely .. the room was creaky exspecially the bathroom floor .. not good .. the landlord who comes from Coventry .. well he needs a course in attitude and rudeness .. he was moaning the pub down the road had shut and he was having all their customers .. which really he should be happy about .. also he was very sharpe and rude to my husband .. which really there was no need .. you either want the custom and be grateful or just don’t bother ..

Unrivaled food
The room was immaculate, the staff really friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Decent number if real ales and friendly locals. However the highlight has got to be the food. The evening meal was fine dinning at pub food prices. I have paid three times as much at a restaurant that didn't come close to the food here. I will definitely be coming back.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Friendly staff looked after us, phoned taxis for us, and even let us have an earlier breakfast as we were pushed for time. If we're even in the area again we would come straight back.
