Dear Fleur, We would like to thank you for choosing to stay with U Residence Hotel during your recent visit to Wellington and sincerely appreciate you taking the time to inform us of your recent experience at our hotel. We are disappointed to read that your experience did not meet your expectations and thank you for talking to us the other day and for giving us the opportunity to respond to your comments. We do wish that you had raised your concerns with us during your stay so that we could have attended to them at the time. There are many touch points you have raised and we would like to address each of them as we had done with you on the phone. Regarding your feedback about the dishwasher, on checking this it appears that the dishwasher’s door was not shutting as it should have. It was a simple fix and once again we do wish you had mentioned this to us as we could have fixed this issue immediately. Smoke butts on the balcony – All rooms have balconies and each room has an ashtray for guest use. The cigarette butts you had seen would have been wind swept from the room next door as the drain tray flows through all room balconies to the down pipe at the end of the building. Please rest assured that our housekeeping team cleans all rooms thoroughly before guest arrival and this is also checked by our Manager on Duty.Pen and paper/Wifi – Paper, pencil, Wifi information, brochure of the hotel are all readily available in the room and situated on the work desk. Once again we could have pointed this out if we knew you could not find this information in the room.Rubbish bins – There is a small rubbish bin in the bathroom as you rightly indicate but it appears that you have not opened our cupboard under the sink which has a larger bin. All rooms have a minimum of 2 rubbish bins.Soap – Once again, all rooms have soap in the form of handwash, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and even a shower bomb! We do not use bar soaps at the hotel.Vacuum Cleaner and Washing Machine – All our rooms have a shovel and brush but we do not equip the rooms with vacuum cleaners as we are a full service apartment hotel. All rooms have a combination washing machine and dryer with full instructions at the back of the cupboard door to the washing machine as well as washing powder under the sink area. It appears that you have not seen this as well. A call would have cleared this up very quickly.Our showers are standard showers and we are very confused as to how this can be uneven as they are not tiled. If you required a non-slip mat we would have happily given you one. Once again a quick call would have fixed this.We pride ourselves in being to offer pet-friendly facilities. All rooms have balconies and we also provide a pet bed, bowl, pet letter and a pet treat and pet charges apply. It appears that you have brought a pet into the hotel without our knowledge and we will be in touch with you to arrange for the pet fee for your stay. Thank you for

Hello Nicholas, Thank you for your feedback. It sounds like you had an experience that didn't meet your expectations, and I'm sorry to hear that. It appears that you were looking for a more traditional hotel experience with a higher level of personal service and interaction with staff.Contactless check-ins and key lock boxes have become more common, especially in vacation rentals and some hotels, as they offer convenience and efficiency. We do have a reception, its just not an 24/7. Should you require any assistance, we have a manager from 9.00am - 5.00pm, after 5.00 pm there is a call center team which helps guest with queries. We do mention this information on confirmation email. Sorry, that our hotel facilities were not suitable for your stay. Thank you.
