The communication with the hotel was excellent. Thank you Molly. Due to the fact that the downstairs pub, bar and bistro area was being renovated there was nowhere to park but Heather, who we met after checking in, was very friendly and gave us a few good suggestions and we managed to find a spot near the hotel. The room was spotless and we heard very little noise from the builders downstairs. The room is not luxurious but is perfect for a short stay and was convenient and close to all the main shops and eateries. The bed was very comfortable but the room could have done with a reading lamp. The price was very, very reasonable. We would definitely stay again and look forward to the renovations being completed as they are looking awesome.

Very noisy hotel and the room they gave me with the sharing toilet and shower was very dirty just disgusting. Room was noisy and smelly never go back there again 👎👎👎👎👎

we where supposed to stay at the William farrer but wotif had overbooked so they sent us to the Victoria hotel. We were the only people staying there it is upstairs above the pub itself which has a 3.30am closing licence at weekneds (no Sleep) It had 2 single beds and a fan in the room.--the toilet and showers were down the hall when the taps were turned on the water came out brown. It was dirty and damp

Toilet was difficult to access.Stairway too close to main bar.Noise from disco until 3am made sleeping impossible.Terrace bar was not sealed from main bar so noise came Through making talking and listening very unfriendly.Not a good private function venue.This situation was helped by use of microphone.Staff were asked to turn music down several times but nothing happened.Just paid lip service.Food prepared for function was excellent.All sliders skewers,fish and chip baskets all well cooked and presented.Excellent.

Complimentary breakfast was nonexistent. Only one downlight worked in the whole bedroom. Noise from the hotel disco kept us awake. Door code system wasn’t properly explained causing us to be locked out.

No 'complementary' breakfast was given even though it is included. Bands and music play on weekends until 2-3am, which is fine but wasn't mentioned anywhere and is different to a few years ago. I was given the wrong key and walked into someone else's room. Another guest was then accidentally given my key and they walked into my room while I was in it. So security is terrible. Staff were nice. I've stayed here a few times over the years, and it used to be an affordable, and decent pub but their standard has slipped for accomodation. I won't be going back.

Surprisingly quiet as we were above the hotel facilities. Quaint high ceilings and squeeky corridor floors and the room most comfortable with a recently properly renovated ensuite. All small but suited us at the budget price with breakfast included.
