The property is not in very good condition - two window blinds would not open; not enough kitchen utensils for the number of people booked; the shower water often just ran cold - but the really problem is the service from the owner. We were hassled by WhatsApp message for our credit card details in order to get city tax out of us. The owner then charged us, without any warning, almost twice the advertised rate in tax. The owner refused to pick up the phone to talk - the WhatsApp number just went to a voicemail - so all communication was done through text. When I questioned the amount taken from my card for city tax, the owner just blamed Expedia/Hotels.com for advertising the wrong rate. This created a lot of unnecessary anxiety and marred what was meant to be a dream family holiday. The fact that this place is in a good location for the main Venice sights did not make up for the stress caused by the unprofessional hassling leading up to our arrival in the city.
