The property could use a lift even the staff mentioned this as we had to get the staff to carry our cases up and down the stairs.

Our room was absolutely wonderful - beautifully clean and every possible facility you could wish for - plenty of room and every comfort one could wish for. The main drawbacks for us were that we had to leave our car outside well away from the building, and as our room was upstairs we had to carry everything we needed by way of luggage, bags etc up a double flight of steep stairs, and we had to carry it through the gaming area in full view of everybody in there. Also, the area round the outside of the building was quite grotty and uninviting.

The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Typical Tasmanians, warm hospitable and have a genuine likeness for tourists. Would have no trouble encouraging visitors to available themselves of their facilities.

Value for money.
It changes my view towards pub hotel. The hotel is in the middle of town. Room is spacious clean with modernised big toilet. and staff are friendly. It has the convenience of a bistro downstair with value tasty meals . Overall, value for money stay.

Very comfortable staff extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Nothing was too much trouble. A little out of the way from Devonport though excellent value and well worth the extra travel. A great selection of restaurants meals and bar available.

A perfect place to stay to explore the Ulverstone area, having toured Tasmania for a month and stayed in many motels The Lighthouse was a breathe of fresh air for the standard of cleanliness, modern and friendly staff, we had a meal in the cocktail bar in the evening which was also good reasonably priced food.
