Good Bits * Beautiful view over Thames coastline from balcony * Really nice welcome * Use of the owners pool but quite a few leaves in it and not heated * Complimentary milk, biscuits and Bailey's type drink Not so good bits * Cleaning not very thorough - Someone's blond hair on the sofa and sofa pillows, *Cobwebs in exposed rafters, *External doors and windows not clean. *Mould in shower cubicle. *Dishes not washed properly - not checked before occupancy - yuck *Oven was also quite disgusting and not clean. * Can hear neighbours on the phone through bedroom wall clearly at night! This facility lets itself down with basically a poor cleaning regime. Such a simple thing to fix and it would make all the difference

We had the Camellia Chalet. Spectacular views on a hill overlooking the bay from the bed, deck and dining area. Room was the size of a small apartment with cooking amenities. We decided to dine in and enjoy the room and views. Grounds were meticulously landscaped with labels on all the native plants. We had a king sized bed even though the booking description said double. It was almost like staying in a treehouse.

Looks like a family-run property. Chalets were nicely appointed bearing in mind they are a little older. Beautifully clean & furnished. Our unit had a brand new aircon, so the owners obviously care about their property. Very nice, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you 😊

Lovely property, the manager was so helpful just a note for families the beds are upstairs and only single hand rail So it is a bit daunting if travelling with parents - also Navman does not take you directly to the route so a phone call sorts that out. Older property however well suited to us

This property over excelled my expectations i was so impressed with the welcoming friendly nature and well impressed with the room the picture's dont give you the feeling that you do when you see it for your own eyes and experience it yourself will not be disappointed in anyway apart from when you have to leave id recommend this to all travelers lovers all types nice quite beautiful view holiday i will definity go back again and again heads up paul here from last night the batters are flat in the tv remote so i turned it of by the wall forgot to tell you

this is a very unique and quirky motel/accommodation experience. Due to the situation high up a hill providing amazing views across Thames, the out door/uncovered wooden steps and track would not be suitable for everyone.

Hi Darryn - rather cheeky to be leaving a 2 for your stay when you arrived at our place with an extra person and decided to party for most of the night, being asked twice by us as well as the next unit to please be quiet. Furniture was moved out of the unit for your extra person to be accommodated and a mattress put into the unit.You were still asleep at service time after the partying and did not come to reception to ask for anything after missing the service. Perhaps we should have woken you.As I say rather cheeky to be thinking that it’s ok to give us a 2! Not sure you would want your ‘guest’ rating!

Cottage with a lovely view
The Camellia cottage is spacious with everything we need. Magnificent view being high up overlooking Thames particularly at sunset time! It is spotless clean can't complain about it. The only thing we personally don't like is their bath towels are not white but grey colour which you never know if they are clean or not. It's only our personal preference. Overall it's a nice quiet place and a short distance to town where shops and restaurants are.

Absolutely fantastic location with a great panoramic view over the bay. The chalet was a little way from the town centre up quite a steep hill and so would require a car. The chalet was a little too small if you wanted to stay for more than a night or two. The facilities were great and we were very comfortable.

Maintenance Problems
The best was very comfortable and the view was lovely. However, we really were disappointed with the price due to no usable/ maintained/ clean pool. The nightly price was too high considering this as well as a broken oven handle & a disintegrating/stick/dirty hairdryer. Luckily a deep cut or worse injury did not occur when cooking since a sharp wire was the only way to open oven. The hairdryer had been used by a former guest who wrapped toilet paper around the handle which was still stuck to the nasty handle. I wrapped a hand towel around that to also use it. This towel was then removed the next day of our 2 PM stay so the problem was known, but not addressed leaving an impression on us guests that we weren't worth the $20 to replace it. Too expensive per PM cobsidering these 3 things: no usable pool, unsafe oven, nasty hairdryer.
