Amazing one-night stay! Free breakfast in the morning, and incredibly helpful staff at the reception desk. Parking was simple once it was explained to us- cheap parking a 2-min walk away, or free weekend parking on the same street. Only downside is I was able to hear the plumbing of the next room over, but it was able to be drowned out with the TV.

Convenient and welcoming
We were allowed to check in early which was great because we were so tired. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Central Station and Haymarket. Breakfast was wonderful.

Great location
The hotel is convenient for Central station, UTS and the University of Sydney. The room was small and basic but clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good.

old Sydney hotel with character.
Don't be fooled from the exterior, inside is an old ambiance but the rooms are modern . My room was equipt with a kitchenette area as well as ensuite. Plenty of room.

First stay at the Vulcan Hotel and it was very nice! The room matched the pictures in the previews. The place was clean and service was as expected for a professional hotel - seamless, easy and friendly. We stayed in the superior queen bedroom and the ensuite was adequate - clean. It was small and a little challenging for larger guests, but comfortable. Tv was limited to free tv and only some channels - Netflix and others available if you’re willing to sign in for yourself. Only complaints were hearing traffic through closed windows. A bit of a constant dull buzzing from the city life. Bed was clean and nice, however very soft which is not to our liking (either rolling in or out from each other and feeling every movement). Overall, close to dining and shopping if willing to walk about 10 mins. Parking was reasonably easy at the UTS underground park, a 7 minute walk. Very nice hotel and would absolutely stay there again happily.

The staff was amazing, helpful and friendly! Special thank you to Lupita :) Did not like the sound conditioning, as the people above me on the 3rd floor seemed to be showing several times into wee hours of the night (1:30am) and loudly walking around.

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff
We unexpectedly had to book a single night in Sydney and ended up here. The hotel was absolutely lovely, and the staff were fantastic. We would definitely consider coming back here if visiting Sydney in the future.

Standard Sydney hotel
I don’t know what star rating this hotel is but it seems like 2.5? 3? I know there will be excuses about the place being a boutique hotel etc but I was a little surprised they charged for espresso drinks. Seemed a little strange for the type of hotel it presents itself as online. The staff were amazing. I had an issue with the toilet and was moved. Then I had an issue with the sound and the next door neighbor and I was moved. The staff were very gracious about it. The rooms are dated, but clean. Breakfast was fair. Location was less than desired but if you like the bus and google maps … you’ll enjoy this place. It’s about a 15 minute walk to get to Chinatown.

It's been a few years since I have been to the Vulcan Hotel, but I'm glad to see that it is still at a very high standard. The reception staff were very efficient and friendly and the room was comfortable and very clean. The whole hotel had the feel of being well looked after. It's a very short walk up to Broadway with lots of buses to the city, and an easy walk to wonderful Glebe Point Road. The rooms were very quiet. All in all, an exceptional stay.

We were pleasantly surprised that our stay included breakfast in the hotel's cafe (cereal, eggs, bacon, beans, toast, coffee, juice etc). The staff were very happy and really helpful giving us information about the parts of the city we were heading to. We only stayed the one night and were able to park in the paid parking on the street in front of the hotel. That was really convenient. We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is really clean. We'd recommend it and would go again.

I love staying at the Vulcan. It is a family business that is simple clean and convenient. The staff are really helpful. Access to the property is easy and parking is cheap and close by. Easy walk to amazing dining at Broadway and Chippendale!
