The room did not feel sanitary, there was what appeared to be mould in the shower and packets of food under our couch left behind from a previous guest. It is in walking distance from quite a lot which was good for us but disappointed by the quality of the room

room booked was unsatisfactory but management were very obliging and upgraded us to an ideal unit. Surprised to find cooking facilities. I would recommend that they upgrade the foyer outside the lifts and clean inside the lifts particularly the carpets

We picked this place because you can’t beat the location. It’s walking distance to every thing major. The full kitchen was a very nice addition and the staff here are friendly and accommodating. Our city view was really nice to wake up to every morning.

The place is a bit run-down though the location is excellent as it is within walking distance to Darling Harbour, Westfield and Town Hall Station. The staff have been courteous and accommodating. However, the biggest let down are the beds. If you want to know what sleeping on concrete feels like feel free to give this place a try. We fed back to the staff but their reply was that all the bed mattresses were the same. You could tell they installed cheap mattresses on their beds. We found it hard to sleep and woke up with sore back almost daily. Despite our tolerance levels; we had to give this hotel a low score because it failed in its primary purpose: to give its guests a good nights sleep.

I paid for a deluxe bedroom suite and was provided an old, tired room which was falling apart and needing attention. Location is fantastic and service was friendly. I was also looking forward to using the sauna but unfortunately it was not working optimally. For the same cost I would recommend elsewhere.

Honestly don't stay here. It is out of date and filthy. If you read some of the higher marked reviews they won't deny that, just far too generous. It's a complete rip off. My apartment was meant to be deluxe. I think they get confused with the word deluxe and large.

This property was great - I understand they haven’t had it for long and are going to renovate it. The foyer is already modern, the room was dated but great value, clean and everything was there. The location was great walkable to most things in the city or you could jump on the light rail easily and the train is close too. If you plan to park there the car park is very tight to get through and if your car is big you might take a bit to manoeuvre in and out All in all.. I would definitely stay here again

The management charged me double. I made the mistake with the arrival date because the international dateline is confusing. If i showed up a day after my booking date they would cancel the whole week. I canceled one minute after i booked and re booked with the correct date to remedy the problem. The hotel manager refused to refund the canceled trip even when i booked and paid for the same week but just one day different. 1600 bucks they kept and were too unreasonable to do the right thing and refund me for a common mistake. Shame on them for shady business practices! They also advertised a balcony. It was an 8 inch ledge. My foot only fit sidewise on it. They put powered instant coffee in the room. 10 minutes waiting time for the elevator. And it smelled lije mildew everywhere. Pick another place.

This was a centrally located place in heart of Sydney! However that is pretty much the only perk. I would caution that it is very dated rooms, the temperature in the rooms fluctuate and the water as well. Also, there was constantly laundry or trash in the narrow hallways, making it difficult to move between the room and downstairs. Lastly, we had a flight cancellation and they refused to refund or extend our stay, so we ended up paying for 4 nights, and only staying 2. I would have hoped for some flexibility in such events, or even some compromise. Anyway, I wouldnt stay again.

I have stayed at other YEHS properties and they are always friendly, good price and convenient locations. This was no exception! You can walk to the city or Darling Harbour easily. Property was clean and modern. A couple of negatives - beware parking is very tight, would be difficult to navigate in a large car (we had a small car and just managed). It was also very noisy at night, with cars revving and racing on a nearby road (this is common in the city though at any hotel). And lastly the mattress was very very firm. It was the hardest mattress I have ever slept on and was aching by morning. Despite this we would definitely stay here again for the price and convenience :)

Failed to disclose renovations occurring at hotel time of reservation, floor I stayed on smelt of paint, gyprock on carpet in rooms, hallway covered in plastic sheeting and there was an open manhole with exposed wiring in the roof. The second elevator that wasn’t working when we arrived. The room we stayed in smelt stale and rotten, seemed to be coming from the AC. Not worth the cost we paid.

I made a booking for two nights and extended for a third. I went to reception to confirm that I was staying an additional night and then when I returned the safe said my booking was not for that night and had packed my belongings into my suitcase and a garbage bag and kept in the foyer. The public areas of the hotel were grubby and the room was very dated and worn, not at all like the photos on the website.

The hotel was dirty and the staff were rude. We spent a significant amount of money on food to store in the fridge as we were working at a trade show during our stay. The fridge froze all of the food and the hotel took zero responsibility for it and the food all had to be thrown away. The room was damp, the bathroom door did not shut properly. Whilst the bathroom was well finished the rest of the room, whilst size able was tatty and out dated. Given the cost of the stay the hotel did not reflect in any way the expense and it certainly was not a 4 star hotel. The loft was slow, dirty and tired. Would not recommend or stay here again.

We booked for the spa pool but was cold. There were so many warnings about fire hazards in the kitchen area just to make toast that we were scared to cook. If you don’t like lifts don’t use this hotel as there are no stair alternatives except emergencies. Long waits for lifts. However great location, lovely staff and great value for money .

The common areas were tired.

We booked a room that stated it was for 3 people and requested twin bed they gave us a room with a double bed which meant one of us slept on the sofa They did not offer another roon until the next day They did not offer to refund or even apologise. The next day they did eventually change the room and they said they would email and take the bags to the room when it was ready they did neither of these thing I would never recommend this hotel it's poorly maintained and cooking from other rooms makes the rooms smell I am truly disappointed with the attitude of the staff and the maintenance of the hotel

The property needs renovations. Hopefully, they are under renovation as I saw peeling off wall paper and stuff on the hallway. The location is awesome and very center. The rooms although old and tired - they are huge. We booked the suite and there’s a bedroom with a sliding door , a living room , round dining table, kitchen, stove, dishwasher, sink, fridge, a full size washer and a separate dryer in the bathroom. Walkable to malls, tons of restaurants and the public transportation
