We had a room next to the rooftop bar and it was very hard to sleep with the noise, the hotel did supply earplugs which says it all. The food was fantastic

Repairs to property at 6.30 -7.00 am . Loud noises unable to sleep . No hot water . Ring and made complaint. Asked to leave for my complaint. Left hotel without shower and feeling sick . Keep away from this hotel . Sent message to head office. No reply. Only possible reason staff would have said untrue things . No problem staying at other hotels

Loud noises coming at 6.30-7.00 in the morning. No hot water .Repair to hotel . Treated badly by staff asked to leave for complaint by me . Unable to sleep or shower. Left hotel early hours in the morning feeling SICK . Please don’t use this hotel . Save yourself a headache

Thanks for your feedback Harry, we did have an issue with hot water for a short period on one night of your stay, however this was quickly rectified. As discussed with the manager, the feedback you provided regarding this was nothing to do with the reason for the request for you to leave the property.

Loved the staff all very helpful. Nedded a wifi password in the room. Door to room was confusing to lock. Manager on the day was excellent.

Simple and clean enough room. Facilities are a little old but completely functional. Incredibly convenient location and very easy to get back to your room at any hour. - Venue doesn't open until 10am, so arriving early to drop off bags is impossible. - Room has little to no soundproofing right next to central station, tram line and loud pub patrons. - Bizarrely there was a floodlight pointed directly at the window which the curtains could not block out entirely.

Great room, just noisy with the light rail. Curtains blocked out most of the light but the flood lights on the exterior of the building made the room too light which made sleeping difficult. It is a brilliant location and very central but good to know what you are in for and the price reflects the things listed

This low cost hotel in the very centre of Sydney is excellent value. The area is a bit odd & a bit noisy, but I found it safe. For me, it was brilliant to get to & from the airport (in 10 minutes). Modest and clean room but great value.

First of all, the room (#4) had issues with the electronic key. It would only open the room door after many attempts. The lock was dodgy. The room was covered in a layer of dust. The bathroom appeared like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in years. There were water marks on the top of the bathroom vanity and the corners of the room and every piece of furniture were dusty and I’m convinced the bathroom only gets mopped once a week. The sink in the bathroom was cracked. The room was of a good size and most of the street noise was kept out by the windows and curtains. The chairs were uncomfortable to sit in and I’m glad I didn’t bring a black light with me because I’m sure the place would have lit up like Christmas. The fridge had been turned off at the wall and was leaking water from the freezer defrosting into the bottom of it. I love the location and the price but you’ve got to up your game on general cleanliness. I’ve stayed at this hotel three years running and there are always things that need improving. But the staff were lovely and friendly. Check in was easy. The location is great and very convenient to public transport. Sack the cleaners though. Or inspect the place after they’ve been through because I’m sure they’re not doing their job properly.

A good place to stay.
You cannot get a more central position in Sydney than this Hotel, it is right next to Central Station south eastern entrance. It is an old building with the rooms modernized and now all include private shower and toilet facilities. Some rooms are small but functional. There is a lift that services both floors of rooms. Breakfast is not available, but Dinner certainly is in the Bistro at the Bar. Prices of rooms vary depending on season and City activities, but overall are not expensive. I recommend this place if you need Sydney City accommodation.

I liked that it was old but it was extremely noisy all night long & i had a spotlight shining directly into my room. Room was hot even with the aircon. The shower was awesome. The bar staff were very unpleasant & didn't have any friendlyness at all! Very basic room & over priced.

all rooms have been reconditioned and bathrooms installed. The Hotel is situated very well in Chalmers Street right at the Eastern entrance to Central Station. Excellent meals are available at the Bistro.

The room was filthy with dust build up everywhere , i doubt its ever been cleaned properly. The smell was unbearable , if you have allergies you will probably die !. Window was sealed shut so no fresh air and i wasn't game to use the air conditioner as the vents have never been cleaned and were absolutely full of dust.
