No compensation for 2 days without water - Really?
I traveled all day from the east coast to San Jose and got in at about 9:30, which was after midnight to my body. The receptionist acknowledged that they had my reservation, but it took 20 minutes and several calls to the manager to assign me a room. Very strange.... I have a CPAP machine and the receptionist did graciously provide me with a bottle of water for it, which I appreciated. The next day when I returned to the hotel the parking lot was flooded due to a water line break somewhere at the hotel property. Bottom line is there was no water in the hotel for 2 days. The staff did what they could to at least let us wash our hands before breakfast with a jug of water. I was fortunate that the facility I was working at has locker rooms so I could shower there, but most people at the hotel probably weren't as lucky as I. When I checked out of the hotel no apologies were given for 2 days with no water service and I was charged the full amount of the bill. I was a bit surprised at this. Considering that this is a refurbished old motel, it's actually quite nice and "affordable" for Silicon Valley. The way the staff responded to this unplanned event, however, left me with a bad taste in my mouth or else I would consider staying there again. Business travelers expect more than the BW offered.
