I was inclined to dislike this hotel because I didn’t realize parking was going to be $20/day and there was no complimentary breakfast. To be fair, it was my own fault for not reading closely and assuming, based on the price and comparable hotels, these things would be included in the total. BUT. The rooms were clean and really well maintained during our four day stay, and the staff was great. The beds were also comfortable and it was quiet.

Room was great as advertised, but there were small little flying bugs that kept coming into the room through the sink. Aside from that, this is a nice location for a reasonable price!

The parking price changed between the date I booked and the date I went. So I was charged the new rate, which I felt was unfair. I should have paid what I was quoted at the time of booking! I even had screen shots of the room details! The security door latch on our room was broken, so that wasn’t good. Why even have it up? Someone just stuck it back up and left it! Any communication with the room cleaner was pointless because she spoke zero English! So trying to explain we needed a new door sign that said do not disturb (because it kept blowing off the door and disappeared) was obsolete because she didn’t understand anything, she just kept smiling and nodding her head saying “yes”. This is definitely a motel feel. Clean, but a motel!

This hotel was not as fancy as 2 others we stayed in on our California trip, yet it was the most comfortable in every way. Love that it had a microwave, breakfast options to purchase reasonably at the front desk, and it was quiet. Our favorite part was birdwatching at the swimming pool. We did not swim, but discovered so many birds using the Merlin Bird App. Less than 2 miles from the Santa Ana airport.

As soon as I checked In I was turning the air on and I notice a pair of dirty panties on the floor next to the AC unit I called the front desk immediately and told them they asked if I wanted another room I said no because I didn’t check in till 11:30pm and my toddler was asleep so I asked if house keeping can come in the morning and clean the room and change the linens and the person at the front desk said I’m so sorry that happened I wish I could do something but you prepaid so you would have to talk to a manager so in the morning call to speak to a manager explain to another front desk worker what happened and was sent to a voicemail I left the room for the morning came back at 1pm and they were still on the floor!!! And I called again and they said house keeping had a few more rooms to clean before they would get to mine no since of urgency room didn’t get clean till around 3 the next day just disgusting I will never stay at that property ever again extremely disappointed as I never had any issues with a best western property

We stayed here on our trip to Sea World. The rooms were fairly updated, we liked that they had a stove top, microwave, and refrigerator. I do think its ridiculous that you have to pay an additional $20/day parking. Like we're guests here, where else am I suppose to park? But overall the staff was very friendly and helpful, we close to a lot of things, and the room was clean.

Front desk was very friendly, reviewed the charges for the room. Provided map of where to locate the room we were staying in. I also like the security feature of the elevator that you need a room key in order to operate. There is security walking the property, that is knowledgeable and there to assist. The pool was clean and the hot tub was great. Near a liquor store that was very clean and had a lot of variety and some small restaurants near by as well. The freeway is close but not to loud at all. Near a lot of other hotels. The rooms were clean, the bed sheets soft and was a nice quiet hotel. Would definitely book again on our next trip.

Firstly, the night staff is very rude. My flight was changed and I ended up getting there night before around 11pm although my check in was for the next day at 4pm. However the flight change was not in my control I did not expect to just be able to check in that early, however I asked to stay in the lobby until maybe some restaurant opens up as nothing around there was open at alll and this was my first time in SD. The staff told me the lobby was simply going to close at midnight and I requested if I just stay at least until I can go somewhere I wouldn’t bother anyone, it was pouring outside with rain, they did not care, they were extremely rude. Then I waited outside in the rain for a couple of hours with my luggage under a shed of a restaurant. Went to check if they were open at 2:30 am and their door was open, when I asked the representative I thought you said you guys “lock” the door at midnight she responded saying someone may have forgotten to lock the door. This is a complete lie when there were guests coming in checking in late. I understand there maybe some policies in place however to lie that the lobby is going to close and that the door will be locked is very insensitive and unprofessional. Next we went into the hot tub and it literally smelled like sewer water, it was green. I initially thought maybe there’s a drain nearby or maybe the color at the bottom of the hot tub was green and I was over reacting. Next day I was covered in a rash all over. It was disgustin

Thank you for sharing your review of your recent stay with us. Please know it is policy if a reservation is for a certain day this reservation can not be checked in until 9am of the arrival date. Early check ins do incur a fee. If one would like to check in prior to this time they would have to pay the full rate of the previous night. Also it is policy not to allow loitering in our lobby if one is not currently a guest of the hotel. Locking the lobby at night is for the security of the staff and guests of the hotel. Management and the desk agents will discuss how to properly convey this message to our guests. We appreciate feedback from all of our guests as it assists us in becoming the hotel to which we aspire. We know you have many options when visiting San Diego and we appreciate the opportunity to host you.
